Applies learned and established trouble shooting techniques, use some technical documentation and schematics to solve operational problems on the production equipment. Follows up to ensure the fix was correct for the reported problem, consults with lead and higher skill positions to ensure repair is correct.

Possesses basic skills to trouble shoot problems and make simple electrical and mechanical repairs. Rebuilds Hydraulic and Pneumatic cylinders, actuators and pumps using replacement parts. Assembles and installs mechanical and plumbing components following documentation or verbal instructions.

Dismantles, cleans, and assembles central unit components. Makes the needed adjustments for the tolerances during assembly and pre-install. Rebuilds Hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, actuators and pumps using replacement parts.

Performs preventative maintenance and the required documentation in a timely manner to meet scheduled requirements. Performs preventative maintenance procedures on all production and facility equipment as identified per schedule.

This will included higher skilled adjustments than the PM mechanic, lubrications, mechanical drive maintenance, hydraulic filters and process cleaning systems. Completes maintenance records such as labor, materials and equipment PM history and work orders posting accurate time and closing of the order. Inspects water lines, hydraulic lines, and pneumatic lines for correct fluid levels and performs the repairs needed to ensure leak free operation.

Fully engaged in the 5S/lean, tier management for organization, cleans personal and job site areas daily. Returns tools to proper locations as part of lean.

All parts used, work performed and other paper work properly completed and documented. Participates in contributing and completion of continuous improvement suggestion, A3 and projects for improvement.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

Requires a high school diploma

Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in an industrial maintenance repair position or a successfully completed trade school certificate in electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic or HVAC.

Must have the Technical Skills required for this position.

Must be self starter and work under minimal supervision.

Must be able to understand verbal instructions.

Must be able to read and comprehend technical instructions.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid state driver's License

Required or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire:

  • Up to date Minnesota Registered Unlicensed Electrician

  • Up to MN Special Engineers License

Preferred:

  • MN 2-C License (Hutchinson location only) - willing to obtain as qualifications are met
