Danone North America is looking for aMaintenance Technician in Dallas, TX.


General Summary:

  • An ideal candidate should be a multi-craft/multi-skilled technician with expertise in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication

  • Installs, repairs, and maintain machinery, equipment, physical structures, electrical, process and utility systems by performing maintenance support duties, both planned and unplanned

  • Runs diagnostic tests on malfunctioning equipment and performs repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance activities in all areas of plant.


  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, packaging and processing equipment (optimizing uptime and minimizing downtime) and utility systems (to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, cooling, electric power, gas, or air required for operations) and; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and engineering specifications

  • Troubleshoots, installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, VFD's, wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, including basic PLC control systems

  • Provides related technical guidance and expertise; assisting and coaching Maintenance, Operations and QA associates on an ongoing basis

  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Closes out work orders in MP2 CMMS, while writing technical summaries and descriptions, detailing work performed, for permanent record keeping

  • Complies with the following initiatives: Maintenance Excellence, Autonomous Maintenance, Management Operating System (MOS), Safe Quality Foods (SQF), 5S, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Process Safety Management (PSM)


Preferred Candidate Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in an applicable technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience is highly desirable. Must have High School diploma at a minimum.
  • 5 years of related industrial troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience on highly technical, precision equipment, including 3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing filling, packaging and process equipment.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Multi-craft/multi-skilled with expertise in electrical, electrical controls, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics and fabrication

  • Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems is highly desirable, (including boiler systems, ammonia refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, waste water treatment)

  • Working knowledge of PLC's, VFD's, Servo's and plant automation systems

  • Previous experience with industrial controls using Allen Bradley control platforms, Motor Controls (Servo and VFD) a definite plus

  • Working knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules/regulations

  • Ability to work various shifts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components-- photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachs, and encoders Conducts maintenance and higher level troubleshooting of robotics and robotic work cells Troubleshoots PLC programs including using ladder logic, components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet) Maintains and troubleshoots power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials up to 480V Maintains and troubleshoots all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical Creates and closes Work Orders to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used into asset management system. Develops work plan for emergency repair of critical assets to include coordinating with operations, locating parts/tools for repair, scheduling time with equipment, etc. Leads and audits Preventative Maintenance procedures/ practices.
