Job Description

Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic will service equipment. This role performs repairs, corrections, replacement, inspections, documents, and files accordingly and reports back to Maintenance Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment; primarily loaders, shears, grapple, skid steers, forklifts, tractor/trailer, shredder.

• Perform daily preventive maintenance on equipment as required

• Follow the dress code and compliance of proper PPE at all times

• Work independently in the absence of direct supervision

• Prepare all necessary documentation [Bill of Ladings, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Tool Orders]

• Conveyor systems, hydraulic systems, PLC's

• Welding, grinding, weld set-up, and torching

• Set up and break down machinery

• Transportation maintenance

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, Trade school

• 2+ years minimum experience in Maintenance/ Mechanic

• Hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Problem-solving

• Welding, grinding, and torching experience

• Sort and identify tools and parts

• Pass a pre-employment drug screening

• Pass a pre-employment background check

• Willing to work overtime and weekends when necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Sit, stand, walk, and stoop for long periods

• Able to climb in/on mobile equipment

• Exposure to physical operations in scrap recycling facilities, including walking/climbing in active industrial yards with uneven surfaces in inclement weather
