General Summary

Currently, we have a great opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Team. This hands-on position will be located in our Blue Ash, Ohio global headquarters. The successful candidate will install, maintain, and repair equipment at Michelman Cincinnati facilities and will work on 1st shift, Monday

  • Friday, 7:00 a.m.

  • 3:30 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Maintenance team to maintain housekeeping in production areas, maintain CMMS, and maintain proper inventory of spare parts.

  • Install and maintain equipment and facilities at the Cincinnati Shell Rd and Kemper Rd plants.

  • Install and maintain plant utilities, including waste water treatment plant, soft water process, air compressors and boilers

  • Perform technical assistance and equipment problem solving to maintain plant operations and facilities

  • Understand preventive maintenance procedures and execute tasks based on schedule

  • Troubleshoot longer term/reoccurring reliability issues and identify improvements to reliability program

  • Participate as a member of various process improvements teams; support the Safety Committee functions

  • Report status and usage of stocks of maintenance items to maintain uninterrupted operations and a high quality facility appearance

  • Maintain high level of focus on the importance of internal and external customers throughout the organization, personally doing whatever is appropriate

Education and Experience

  • 3-15 years' experience in plant maintenance operations, welding, pipefitting, electrical and controls equipment experience

  • Familiarity and comfort utilizing standard business office software

  • Experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized maintenance management software) for task documentation

  • Knowledge of Lockout Tagout (LOTO) and confined space entry requirements

  • Proven ability to think independently as part of a team and handle projects from conception to completion

  • Technical degree or certifications preferred

  • Proficient in instrumentation including flow meters, level sensors, pressure sensors, load cells

  • Experience with motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), starters, power supplies, and transformers.

  • Proficient at pipefitting and welding

  • Experience with batch mixing tanks, pressure vessels, extruders, conveyors, boilers, compressors, and general building repair

  • Understanding of and/or training/certification in NFPA70 preferred

Work Demands

  • Climb stairs, stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50lbs

  • Frequent bending and lifting

  • Constant standing during the shift

  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time

  • Able to operate forklift safely

  • Show proficiency in the operation of all necessary maintenance equipment

Responsibilities * Conduct maintenance work, service requests and preventative maintenance; * Assist with internal and external property-related custodial needs; * Maintain inventory of all equipment, tools and supplies in work order system while keeping a neat and orderly supply room; * Identify proactive maintenance items and create action plans to review with supervisor to keep campus interior brand to established standards; * Communicate facilities-related matters and concerns to management as appropriate; * Regularly utilize technology and systems to receive and respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner keeping complete and accurate documentation of time, materials, inventory, etc.; * Completion of all assigned safety and training programs; * Maintain a safe working environment; * Sustain the highest levels of professional conduct and customer service maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor; * Demonstrated ability to follow procedures directed by work orders, peers and/or supervisor to conduct preventative maintenance and repairs; and * May be responsible for other projects and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications * High School Diploma and 5 years' experience in general facilities maintenance; * Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and lift loads of 50 pounds; * Must be able to stand and/or bend frequently; * Ability to work at heights or in confined spaces; * Working knowledge of basic computer skills and electronic work order system(s); * Knowledge of the work hazards and applicable safety precautions associated with the area of work assignments; * Working knowledge of hand tools; * Knowledge of plumbing and associated skills; * Knowledge of electrical systems and devices; and * HVAC training and / or certifications; preferred. * Ability to perform complex tasks and handle routine decisions in accordance with policy and within deadlines; * Ability to work independently, organize workload and set priorities; * Ability to act as lead on projects, guides and trains other maintenance staff as needed, keeps track of status, budget and impact to other employees.
