We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for our property in Hemet, CA. As a Technician, you perform various maintenance duties requiring technical labor skills, including HVAC repairs and adjustments, electrical installations, plumbing, light carpentry/construction, appliance repair and more. You work as a team participant along with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the community meets the quality maintenance standards set by ELS.

What will you be doing?

  • You report any maintenance concerns for repairs to the Property Manager and then perform repairs either on your own or alongside your supervisor.

  • You assist with special maintenance projects.

  • You maintain grounds and common areas and keep them free from trash and debris.

  • You may assist in monitoring and/or controlling maintenance inventory and/or supplies.

  • You will be required to move heavy objects and you may drive maintenance trucks to various locations on the property.

  • As a member of the maintenance team, you work closely with management and the maintenance engineer in maintaining a safe and appealing property.

  • You communicate regularly with managers and other staff, remaining professional in attitude at all times.

  • You have a High School diploma or equivalent plus 1-3 years hands-on technical work experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.

  • You are able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and work with heavy equipment.

  • You possess a valid driver's license and good driving record along with auto insurance.

  • You take pride in your work and supporting your teammates is important to you.

  • You can successfully pass a background check.

Will also provide service in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, or vehicle servicing to maintain the condition and appearance of buildings and facilities in accordance with established standards. Works under general supervision. Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions: * New or modified installations according to spec and code. * Testing and troubleshooting electrical systems using testing devices. * Installing struts, electrical conduit, MC cable etc. * Setting up control and distribution devices--switches, relays, transformers, panels. * Connecting electric appliances, motors, lighting, devices and equipment * Testing equipment for hazards and adjust, relocate, or replace as needed * Performs repairs, renovation or installation to buildings and facilities, including painting, carpentry, plastering, or plumbing. * Observes and complies with all safety regulations and company policies. Other Responsibilities and Functions: * Performs other duties as required. * Supports continuous improvement activities (DBS) * Maintains a commitment to teamwork and a positive, supportive attitude to all personnel Education and Experience: * Education: High-school or equivalent. * Certified Electrician preferred * Experience: 2-3 years maintenance or related experience, and 3 years of electrical experience. Skills and Competencies: * Self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency and personable. * Proven electrical experience. * Basic plumbing, structural repair, maintenance and installation. * Ability to read/understand written instructions, basic blueprints/schematics. Create written reports. * Ability to work effectively with both employees and managers. Ability to convey a positive and professional image at the work place. * Ability to work under pressure and manage many tasks simultaneously. * Ability to maintain productivity levels that meet or exceed expectations * Ability to successfully manage time/projects.
