24/7 Manufacturer is looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to join our team! This job performs maintenance tasks of great variety: bearing and motor replacement, welding (fabrication and repair), basic HVAC related repairs, basic building maintenance, forklift repair, gearbox repair (blowers and process), grinder/chopper blade set up and replacement, process plumbing, drive diagnosis/repair/replacement, electrical panel building, equipment wiring, PLC troubleshooting, controller replacement/tuning, speed match issues within the process, heater wiring/replacement

A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly while observing all health and safety guidelines.

General Purpose

Maintain process manufacturing equipment in a 24/7 plastic extrusion production facility. Equipment includes all electrical and mechanical systems such as: motors, gearboxes, roll stacks, process ovens, plumbing systems, material feed systems. Technicians work at the direction of the Maintenance Manager and cooperatively with the Engineering department and the production staff to trouble shoot problems that inhibit the safe and efficient operation of our extrusion lines.

Responsibilities

Repair/replace extrusion process line equipment as needed to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Troubleshoot equipment issues in coordinated effort with production personnel.
Ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner while accounting for all parts.
Prioritize servicing breakdowns based on input from shop leadership.
Diagnose and repair equipment in a timely manner, alerting the Maintenance Manager of any repairs taking longer than allotted time.

Requirements

Compliant with all Safety Programs and 5S Principles.
Able to understand electrical diagrams; familiar with 12VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring with diagnostic capability,
Experience with PLCs, VFDs and relay based logic.
Multi-disciplined mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pneumatics, hydraulics skills.
Able to learn new process and equipment.
Effective communication, observation, planning, writing, reading, math, problem solving skills.
Proficient with computers; able to close electronic work orders; search directory for manuals, notes and documents.
Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
