Position Summary

Responsible for general upkeep, repair, maintenance, improvements, and vendor management of Keys Federal Credit Union facilities, grounds, furniture, equipment and vehicles. Assist with the overall planning and decision-making for maintaining the safety, utility, and appearance of the facilities in order to provide a safe, efficient and comfortable working environment for staff. Responsible for handyman services to include painting, replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, tile and carpet maintenance, pressure washing, and minor plumbing and electric repairs. Coordinates cleaning schedules, determines and schedules repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction improvements and safety inspections. Negotiates and coordinates with outside vendors for supplies, repairs and other measures. Handles facilities emergencies. Provides support to the marketing department. Driver of mobile branch. Is available to work evenings and weekends as required.

  • Performs preventative maintenance

  • Handles basic repairs and maintenance

  • Maintains grounds, lawns, and sprinkler systems

  • Processes requests for service from employees and resolves related problems. Ensures requests are reviewed and closed out as soon as practical

  • Operates, maintains, services, cleans, and properly stores assigned equipment, including company vehicles

  • Maintains a proper inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, and other necessary items required to perform duties assigned

  • Works closely with contractors, vendors and property managers to address and resolve issues that arise

  • Maintains familiarity with vendors' scope of work to ensure work is being completed within accepted standards

  • Responsible for adhering to annual budgets for buildings, grounds, maintenance, custodial services, safety, supplies, and vehicle maintenance

  • Manages document storage and destruction in accordance with compliance requirements and in a secure manner

  • Manages mail services to ensure pick-up and delivery of interoffice and general mail

  • Travels to branch locations for deliveries, maintenance and service

  • Processes the credit union office supply orders and ensures cost effectiveness

  • Assists the Marketing department with special event set up and take down, branch promotions, and with driving the Credit Union mobile branch to and from special events

  • Coordinates annual emergency management preparations

  • Maintains a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects

  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations

  • Works overtime when emergencies arise in order to prevent disruption of the credit union

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Two to five years experience in related field

Proven maintenance experience

Specific Skills:

Ability to troubleshoot routine maintenance problems

General knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, etc.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel

Strong written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and vendors.

Good analytical/critical thinking skills

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Ability to stay organized while multi-tasking and work well in a fast-paced environment

Eye for detail

Other skills:

Must be able to maintain a valid Florida driver's license with good driving record and reliable transportation

Must be able to maintain CDL license

Must be able to travel locally and throughout the Florida Keys.

Must be able to lift 75 lbs

Must be able to perform physical actions. These may include actions such as standing for long periods of time, lifting and carrying objects, stooping, squatting, bending or reaching.

Must be able to perform on-call work

Must be open to flexible hours when necessary to include evenings and weekends
