The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving facility equipment and infrastructure. This role ensures the smooth operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implementing timely repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Maintain and repair building infrastructure, including doors, windows, flooring, furniture, and lighting.

  • System Inspections:

  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance.

  • Use diagnostic tools and software to monitor system health and performance.

  • Document inspection results and maintenance activities in detailed reports.

  • Emergency Response:

  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies, providing effective solutions to restore normal operations.

  • Implement safety protocols and procedures during emergency situations to protect personnel and property.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to address after-hours emergencies as needed.

  • Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.

  • Conduct safety audits and inspections, addressing any identified hazards or compliance issues.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

  • Inventory and Resource Management:

  • Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • Order and replenish parts and materials as needed to ensure readiness for maintenance tasks.

  • Maintain organized and clean work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with facility management and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders about maintenance schedules, issues, and updates.

  • Provide training and guidance to junior maintenance staff and new hires.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in a related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance roles within industrial, commercial, or residential settings.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as HVAC certification, Electrical Journeyman License, or other industry-specific qualifications preferred.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.

  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • The role involves working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, mechanical rooms, and rooftops.

  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces.

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, as required.
