  • The Maintenance Trainee will provide support for maintenance, engineering, and production. Support includes troubleshooting, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of the plant assets, focusing on safe, reliable, and cost-effective production in a lean manufacturing environment. The intern program provides On-the-Job Training (OJT) Plan working with designated team members.

  • Safely performs assigned tasks competently and efficiently.

  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

  • The selected candidate will be onboarded as a maintenance trainee intern and follow a development plan working with our current maintenance team and supervisors in either a mechanical or electrical discipline.

  • Will learn how to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical and/or electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, drawings, and diagrams.

  • Will learn to remove/replace defective parts by disassembling machinery; using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.

  • Will assist in controlling downtime by preforming routine preventative maintenance requirements, daily equipment inspections, and monitoring machine operational performance.

  • Perform duties as needed in support of the plant.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled at an accredited university/college and pursuing a technical degree in Industrial Maintenance with a concentration in Instrumentation or equivalent area and have completed the first year of core technical courses including AC & DC Electricity, AC & DC Motors, and Commercial/Industrial Wiring.

  • Desired cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.

  • Ability to work minimum 20 hours beginning January 2020. Hours will be based on a part-time work schedule during the school semester and/or a full-time work schedule of 40 hours per week during the summer up to a maximum of 1,000 hours during any 12-month period.

  • Ability to work in a production oriented environment.
