Maintenance Technician III |Smp

Specialty Metals Processing, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician III. As a Maintenance Technician III you are responsible for providing day-to-day support of operations through troubleshooting, problem analysis, and review of equipment failures.

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm. Roles and Responsibilities: Use knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics to diagnose and repair equipment Mechanical and electrical machine diagnostics Coordinate major PMs on overhead cranes and powered industrial trucks Welding and fabrication abilities to repair or build parts and equipment In depth knowledge to adhere to and hold self and others accountable to lockout tagout procedures, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, confined space procedures and all other Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements Identify, gain approval, and implement projects to improve equipment uptime Use knowledge up to 600 VAC to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
