Maintenance Technician II is responsible for safely performing a wide range of maintenance and electrical duties to emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure. The Maintenance Technician II responds to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an unplanned production line breakdown. The Maintenance Technician II effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner, thereby contributing to the productivity and customer satisfaction. The Maintenance Technician II will need to provide their own tools. The candidate will be able to effectively utilize cutting and welding equipment, handling equipment, blueprints, sketches, PLC Ladders, wiring diagrams, and manuals. This candidate must also have knowledge of maintenance on overhead cranes, and be able to trouble shoot and repair. The Maintenance Technician II must be organized and strive to keep and clean and clutter free work area. Working knowledge of 5S / 6S is preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for safely performing emergency and preventative repairs to plant machinery and infrastructure.
Responsible for responding to work instructions from the Maintenance Group Leader, respond to emergency or breakdown calls. Diagnosing problems, dismantling and replacing defective or worn parts, testing of all repairs after replacement before turning over to the machine operator.
Responsible for performing assigned preventive maintenance, cut weld and fabricate as needed on projects.
Responsible for electrical work with proper PPE in accordance with rules and regulations set forth by OSHA and NFPA 70E (National Electrical Code).
Responsible for responding to the needs of the production supervisor in the event of an emergency breakdown. Effectively utilizes manpower and equipment to complete repairs in a timely manner.
Responsible for the cleanup of Maintenance and work areas where repairs are performed.
Responsible for the safe and prudent use of company equipment and tools. Also, ensures a safe work environment by utilizing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures and reporting any unsafe condition.
Reports to the Maintenance Group Leader or Production Leader during off-shifts and weekends.
Other duties include but are not limited to, plumbing, concrete work, digging and climbing to elevated heights and/ or working in high temperature area and confined spaces.
Communicates daily with internal personnel from Production and Quality Control in order to assist in resolving problems and achieving company goals.
Work from instructions, maintenance requests, and/or respond to emergency or breakdown calls.
