Maintenance Technician II

Overview The Maintenance Technician II installs, maintains, and repairs production and manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.

Qualifications Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. One year certificate from college or technical school; or THREE years related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of continued education and experience.

Moderate knowledge of and/or experience with PLC. Other Functions: Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.

Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.

Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving is required. Preferred, but not required Experience with compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems). Experience with PLC (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.). Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays). Experience with conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls). Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting) Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.). Experience with gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts). Experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting). Experience with kinematics (e.g., line speed/sprocket size ratios, etc.). Review rating instructions.

Experience with packaging/high speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products, etc.). Experience with pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting). Experience with pneumatics/air compression (e.g., valves, cylinders, etc.). Experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data). Experience with pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs). Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PLC, HVAC, Ammonia, Refrigeration, or other specialty certifications preferred, but not required Working Conditions: Must be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors.

Language Skills: English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity. Responsibilities Perform complete preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment to the desired company performance standards. Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes. Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.

Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations. Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
