The Maintenance Technician, a field based position, is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting specialized railroad maintenance of way equipment. Perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and make repairs as needed on equipment. Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision keeping Safety and the customers' need as top priorities. This position travels a 21/7 schedule.
Accountabilities and Responsibility
Perform routine inspections ad preventive maintenance of equipment and railroad cars.
Troubleshoot equipment failures and make necessary repairs.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble carious electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical components of equipment.
Use typical mechanic and electrician tools, test equipment and welding equipment.
Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
Clean debris and lubricants from parts, work area, and equipment.
Communicate with customers.
Complete routine paperwork; send daily activity reports using Windows based phones.
Will be required to fill out daily DOT logbook.
Ensure all specialized equipment is running in order for to meet customer's needs; while maintaining a high priority for safety.

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
