Maintenance Technician (Painter)

Performs preventive maintenance and repairs improving the aesthetics of the Prestonwood ("PBC") facilities concerning visible surfaces and selected furniture.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive work orders / project instructions for completion regarding repairs to walls, banisters, flooring, ceiling, windows, doors, columns, thresholds and other surfaces

  • Conduct weekly inspection of walls, banisters, flooring, doors, ceilings, windows, columns, thresholds and other surfaces for updating

  • Perform drywall repair and painting

  • Perform minor repairs / staining to furniture

  • Repair walls, flooring, and other surfaces as assigned by work orders

  • Reconstruct and repair sheet rock, doors, etc.

  • Purchase necessary and approved supplies, tools, etc. for repairs, painting, and reconstruction

  • Provide support needed with plumbing and electrical work

  • Follow standards for quality and consistency according to PBC expectations

  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

  • May drive church vehicles on and between campuses

  • Assist with set up and break down of all daily and special events as needed

  • Provide the skill and necessary activities to perform renovation work concerning room modifications and/or expansions

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

  • Prior experience with painting/staining/sheet rock/ tape and bed

  • Prior experience in a facilities maintenance role

  • Willing to work inside or outside during all seasons of the year in order to repair, install or maintain areas of the building of facilities equipment

  • Possess and display attention to detail

  • Flexibility, excellent judgement and problem solving skills

  • Able to work flexible hours and shifts when necessary, including evenings and weekends

  • Able to work independently or within a team environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach overhead and kneel on a consistent basis and lift, raise, maneuver up to 50lbs

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
