PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The position is within the Shop Services Department and is responsible for performing precision machining operations on manual and CNC machines to manufacture new or replacement components to support power generation.

This position also supports shop refurbishments of various power plant equipment such as pumps, fans and turbine components. The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement through training and process improvements while maintaining high standards for quality and safety. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Manual Machining with high degree of accuracy Set up and perform maintenance machining operations with a variety of materials using equipment such as:

Bridgeport milling machines. Engine lathes

• 3 and 4 jaw chucks Surface grinders Vertical boring mills Vertical/Horizontal band saws, CNC Machining with high degree of accuracy Machine set up, operate and troubleshoot machining operations with a variety of materials using equipment such as: CNC Vertical Milling Centers

• HAAS / Fanuc controls CNC Lathes

• Fanuc controls CAD/CAM Programming

• GibbsCAM Technical Skills Interpret and understand prints and assembly drawings Geometric dimensioning / tolerancing Shop math to set up machinery and perform quality checks. Attention to detail and quality Perform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment such as:
  
  Pumps, Gearboxes, Fans, Bearings and Valves Perform disassembly and inspection for part repair or replacement and assembly. Sound mechanical maintenance practices Adhere to conduct of maintenance, safety standards and established maintenance standards Safely perform rigging and lifting tasks, operate shop cranes and forklifts.

Please see minimum qualifications list below for each level MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level I Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR HS Diploma with minimum of 12 months of trade or technical experience in Power Plant Technology or relevant field experience OR Relevant Vocational Technical High School diploma with 6 months of Shop Experience at Fort Smallwood MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level II Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics with minimum of 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level III Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics with minimum of 3 years of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology OR 5 years' experience in Maintenance Tech II or equivalent years of experience with trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology or relevant field experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS CAD experience:

AutoDesk / Inventor CAM programming experience: GibbsCAM Experience in CNC maintenance machining environment Mechanical background
