Job Summary:

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing plant in Montgomery, NY. At our facilities, we value continuous learning, innovation and safety. Our technicians troubleshoot, remove and replace, modify, adjust and align, inspect, rebuild, and clean the following:

  • Electrical Systems and Components, including Transformers, AC and DC motors, Relays, Switches, Lights, Wiring, Power supplies

  • Control Systems and Components, including PLCs, Drives, Sensors, Instrumentation, Network Hubs

  • Mechanical Systems and Components including Gearboxes, Pumps, Actuators, Chain and belt driven conveyors, Various valves, Hoses and tubes, Web guide systems

Hourly rate: $31.94

Shift: 3rd, 11pm- 7:30am

Schedule: Sunday- Friday, Occasional OT

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance on Equipment and building

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Work independently with limited supervision.

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

  • Assist Production when requested.

  • Assist in housekeeping.

  • Chemical handling/offloading.

  • PSM Pentane Unloading Certification Completed

  • Use a multi-meter and amp meter.

  • Trouble shoot complex interacting systems.

  • Complete logs, collect data and make reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED

  • 2 years of accredited, formal education in technical field

  • At least 1 year of experience as a multi-craft industrial maintenance technician

  • At least 3 years of experience as an electrician, mechanic, or closely related position

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

Physician Requirements:

  • Dexterity to operate office equipment

  • Walking

  • Standing

  • Sitting

  • Lifting (over 50 lbs)

POSITION PURPOSE: Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on trailers, tractors and yard tractors at the Distribution Center. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy-duty refrigerated trucks and refrigerated trailers under minimal supervision. Required Skills: QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. * Prefer certifications in tire & wheel, brakes, AC &/or EPA, engine rebuild, DOT inspections, transmissions, engines. * Must have a Valid Driver's License 21 years of age or older. Experience and Knowledge Required: * 2-5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including: PM's, tire & wheel, air & hydraulic brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical trouble-shooting, electronic component repair and a minimum of 2 years' experience in refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions. * 2-5 years' work experience post completion of trade qualification. * Some experience with Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration units. Skills/Abilities: * Must be able to read codes and instructions on the computer. * Must be able to document repairs on the computer. * Must possess at minimum a set of hand tools up to (3/4"). * Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays. * Strong verbal & documentation skills. * Dependable, responsible team player with a positive attitude. * Experience in Cummins Insite and International Trucks a plus!
