SUMMARY

The Blow Mold Maintenance Technician is responsible for serving as a hands-on technical resource for resolving equipment problems affecting production and assist with diagnosing production problems. The individual in this position is responsible for identifying and resolving tooling and machine related issues, identifying corrective actions, procuring replacement parts, and performing equipment repairs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function.

  • Serve as a hands-on technical resource for resolving equipment problems affecting production and assist with diagnosing production problems.

  • Identify and resolve tooling and machine related issues, identify corrective actions, procure replacement parts, and perform equipment repairs.

  • Perform HVAC maintenance.

  • Help clean and maintain equipment in like-new conditions.

  • Assist with mold sets and tooling changes.

  • Perform work order tasks entered into the companys MP2 computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Train operators and line workers to become maintenance technicians.

  • Be the first responder (if available) to and correct all line breakdowns.

  • Provide prompt notification of any equipment breakdowns.

  • Conduct line leak reviews and construct hydraulic hoses and water lines.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and regularly clean work area, machines, and equipment.

  • Identify and contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness. Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and methodology.

  • Maintain an open and candid working relationship with immediate supervisor/manager in discussing matters of importance.

  • Adhere to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

An individual qualified for this job must be able to:

  • Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude.

  • Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems.

  • Operate a computerPC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively.

  • Wear/use required PPE (personal protective equipment).

  • Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed.

  • Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs.

Minimum Experience, Education, and CertiFications

  • 2 or more years of related work experience, or a technical degree related to maintenance or other related field, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
