Berry Global is a world-wide company with a state of the art Injection Molding Operation in Cumberland, MD. This location is in the forefront of IML (In-Mold Labeling) technology, Offset printing, and Injection Molding.

Candidates for Technical Maintenance position should possess previous experience in a manufacturing environment. We are looking for candidates with experience in any of the following disciplines: electrical, mechanical, automation, PLC controls, pneumatic and hydraulic trouble shooting, Injection Molding. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety and Housekeeping

  • Equipment and Building Maintenance - Communicate to Molding/Deco Supervisor when repair is complete. Production will restart the molding machine/printer.

  • Responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment, buildings and grounds.

  • Responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance on all production equipment according to maintenance plans and as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Perform emergency repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in evaluating and troubleshooting all electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery and equipment.

  • Daily report to the Maintenance Supervisor about spare parts used so that the Maintenance Supervisor can update the inventory.

  • Assist in test running injection molding and decoration machines as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Responsible for returning the production area to its orderly condition after every repair.

  • Provide information to the Maintenance Supervisor to help identify and develop equipment improvements.

  • Effectively communicate will all shift and plant personnel.

  • Be familiar with and follow all ISO and SQF Procedures/Instructions related to your work.

  • Responsible for carrying out maintenance tasks in compliance with all ISO and SQF Quality System requirements.

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor to promote overall plant effectiveness.
    2.Safety and Housekeeping:

  • Maintain a safe, clean and hygienic work environment.

  • Be familiar with and follow the Safety and Drug Policies of Berry Plastics Corp.

  • Follow the lock-out procedure when working on equipment.

  • Be familiar with and follow the Environmental Policies of Berry Plastics Corp.

  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor and ensure that the equipment is not used until repaired or alleviated.
    3.Training:

  • Assist in the training of new employees assigned to your area of responsibility.

  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in informing outside contractors when performing work for Berry Plastics Corp.

  • Update and maintain personal knowledge related to your daily responsibilities through technical literature, magazines, courses, seminars, etc.
    4.Other:

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Be familiar with and follow all food-safety Procedures/Instructions related to your work.

Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician skilled requirements within the apartment community: * HVAC: repairs, cleans, replaces, etc. * Plumbing: repairs, replace parts, installation (sinks, toilets, faucets, etc.) * Carpentry: repairs and installs doors, shelves, countertops, locks, etc. * Painting: drywall/plaster repairs, painting * Electrical/Appliance: lighting, wiring, power circuits, replacing switches, lamps, etc. * Machinery: repair and maintain chillers, belts, pumps, fans, etc. * Other duties as assigned * Most importantly is the ability to provide exceptional customer service Qualifications The Maintenance Technician required and preferred qualifications within the apartment community: * 1-2 years of required experience in Commercial Property or Multi-Unit Residential Property. * This position requires a High School Diploma/GED. 3-4 years of experience can offset minimum educational requirements for this position. * Preferred certifications for this position include: HVAC (depending on property), Electrical, or Plumbing. * An additional degree that is preferred for this position include: High school & Vocational Training in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance repair or an Associate Degree in General Studies. * This position may require a valid driver's license depending on the needs of the property. * Required skills: self-motivated, team-player, communication, interpersonal, attention to detail, customer service, and personal accountability.
