Job Description:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for both planned maintenance and emergency repairs

in the entire manufacturing facility. The nature of the job requires employees to be multi-skilled

professionals as any of the tasks might require certain mechanical and/or electrical consideration.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

High School Diploma or Equivalent with Military/Trade/Technical/Vocational training

encompassing the following: Electrical Fundamentals, Motors & Controls, Measurement Devices,

PLC Hardware, Mechanical Fundamentals, Power Transmission, Pneumatic Components and

Hydraulic Components.

Essential Functions:

o Follow all EHS guidelines as they relate to routine and non-routine work (eg. LOTO, safe

work permits).

o Maintain an organized, clean, & high performance work station.

o Accurately complete required paperwork such as logging time, parts and problems and

predictive maintenance worksheets.

o Perform repairs, preventative and predictive maintenance of equipment and facilities

demonstrating both mechanical and electrical knowledge as it relates to hydraulic,

pneumatic schematics, control systems, general electric equipment, power distribution,

power supply, drives, ac/dc motors, computer & PLC hardware.

o Perform Non-critical plumbing, cutting, brazing & welding

o Restocking of machine/equipment/facility parts, accessories and hardware

o Collection of universal waste (fluorescent light bulbs, batteries)

o Prepare used oil for disposal and transportation to Hazardous Waste area.

o Continually strive to learn and gain experience and knowledge required to troubleshoot

and correct problems affecting safety, waste, quality and throughput.

o Provide support and assistance to Senior Maintenance Technicians as may be required.

o Working at heights to perform building maintenance as required.

o Lead/Participate in Continuous Improvement Teams as required.

o Must actively support and participate in maintenance activities as it relates to scheduled

manufacturing and organized maintenance days.

Health and Safety Risks

o Confined space entry;

o Working at heights (climbing ladders)

o Working in and around energized electrical equipment

o Eye, skin and inhalation exposure to nuisance dusts; chemicals, solvents, noise, moving

machine components, hot and cold temperatures.

o Hazardous waste activities include adding universal waste to accumulation containers,

transporting universal waste to or from accumulations points, and daily inspection of

universal waste accumulation area.

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-05T00:00 The MAINTENANCE TECHNCIAN is responsible for the overall maintenance of the physical plant of the property and performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair activities on an assortment of systems, including but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, and carpentry, as well as the overall condition of the property as assigned by the PROPERTY MANAGER. Is also responsible for the completion of all related paperwork, reports, and purchase orders. Must be available on a 24-hour basis. Essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: * Complete residents request for service in a twenty-four (24) hours; participate in on call responsibilities in emergency situations. * Contact service contractors and vendors to obtain proposals and bids for necessary maintenance and/or capital improvements. * Perform basic electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuits * Perform basic plumbing repairs, such as clearing stoppages in drains, replacing fittings and hot water tanks, repairing leaks, repairing or replacing disposals and running supply lines. * Perform basic carpentry work, such as fitting doors, replacing and building shelves, and repairing broken glass and screens, and patching holes in drywall. * Perform maintenance and repair on air-conditioning equipment, such as replacing filters, repairing fans, repairing leaks, and charging units as required. * Perform maintenance and repairs to concrete, masonry, and fencing as necessary. * Assist in the refurbishing of apartments prior to resident occupancy, including repairs to walls and ceiling, woodwork, fixtures, appliances and carpet cleaning. * Maintain the cleanliness of the workshop, to ensure safe and efficient working conditions. * Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring that all tools are in good working order. * Pick-up debris from the grounds, and empty outside receptacles daily * Clean garages, storage areas, and other assigned areas. * Remove snow from the walkways and apply ice melt as necessary to ensure the safe conditions are maintained. * Perform maintenance to parking areas as directed. Clean light fixtures, replace bulbs, ballasts and starters; clean drains and troughs, clean and sweep stairwells when needed and hose down parking lot surfaces * Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: * High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates Degree or Certification from a Technical School preferred. * 0 2 years refrigeration, mechanical, roofing, carpentry, paint, electrical, drywall, plumbing, or general maintenance experience.
