Job Summary
3rd shift, full-time Maintenance Technician assists with maintenance and repair in the areas of building maintenance at the Charlotte Convention Center and other CRVA venues, emphasis on painting. Employee must have the aptitude to learn new skills, be able to complete jobs in a timely manner, work a flexible schedule independently, as well as with other team members. This is an entry-level role for a candidate looking to pursue a career in building maintenance.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties
Work with supervisor to ensure all building maintenance is done to meet expectations.
Assist engineering team with painting, carpentry, dry wall repair, etc.
May perform other duties as required.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes days, nights, weekends and/or holidays.
Must be able to work at heights up to 100 feet.
Must be able to use ladders, lifts and scaffolding to perform daily repairs.

Scope of Responsibility
This role has no budgetary responsibilities.
This role will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes and product costs.
Supervisory Responsibility
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Operate various types of equipment and ability to properly use various chemicals and supplies associated with tasks.

Successfully complete any required training or certifications courses deemed required by CRVA and department leadership in a timely fashion.
Follow all policies/procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations, and emergency procedures established at the venues.
Meet the physical demands of the job. Must perform strenuous physical duties at times, including lifting, carrying, moving and climbing.
Ability to grasp new concepts and desire to learn new skillsets.
Education and Experience
Learning opportunities and areas of expertise for the Venue Engineering programs include, but are not limited to the following:
Electrical
Plumbing
HVAC
Ice Technician
Carpentry/Painting
Mechanical Trades (doors, locks, alarm systems, etc.)
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee must regularly use power hand tools.
The employee must be capable of working safely while keeping a fast pace to complete duties.
