JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager and/or Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs maintenance work on plant equipment as assigned.

  • Assists maintenance with installing equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations

  • Possess other general maintenance skills.

  • Maintain work areas to housekeeping standards

  • Performs other assignments as required by Maintenance Supervision.

  • Participates in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, and continuous improvement.

JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum maintenance work experience 3 years post apprenticeship in industrial environment.

  • Possess a working knowledge and ability to proficiently demonstrate that knowledge and skill in the following areas:

  • Obtain a fork lift, overhead crane and scissor lift license.

  • Equipment meets safety standards.

  • Must be experienced with electrical maintenance including low voltage control wiring, 3 phase wiring and troubleshooting 480v, AC & DC motors and Drives. Capable of installing professional looking conduit runs to code.

  • Must have experience with plant 480v power distribution systems including busway, disconnects, Bus plugs, and power transformers.

  • Must have experience with mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting (example: Line-up motors, couplings, gearboxes).

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • PLC Programming and troubleshooting experience.

  • Robotic experience operating, programming, troubleshooting

  • OSHA training in power press safety electrical codes, NEC and NFPA 70

  • Hydraulic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting to include valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.

  • Pneumatic system function, maintenance and troubleshooting, to include: valves, accumulators, cylinders and pressure switches.

  • Experience with industrial air compressors, chillers and HVAC a plus.

  • Industrial lighting systems a plus
