Join our amazing direct mail team in Commerce, CA! We are hiring for an experience industrial maintenance technician with electrical knowledge and experience to support our 3rd shift operations. Training will take place during 1st shift schedule.

JOB SUMMARY

Provide maintenance support and repairs to production machinery, computer systems and facility for a 24 hr. / 7-day manufacturing operation. Additionally, performs all the duties of a Maintenance Technician 1/2 as required.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Production Support: Respond in a timely manner to all maintenance requests on the production floor. Provide training and assistance to production technicians as needed to help maximize production output and minimize downtime through the utilization of proper production techniques and handling practices.

• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Effectively diagnose mechanical, electrical, network, and computer hardware/software in assigned area (facility, machinery, equipment, etc.) Make timely and accurate repairs, as necessary, during production Utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification and maintenance of equipment.

• Preventative Maintenance: Inspect machinery for potential problems on a daily basis. Document problems and schedules work/repairs as appropriate. Respond to all assigned maintenance work orders in a timely manner. Responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) activities in accordance with the preventive maintenance plan.

• Administrative: Perform inventory control of parts and equipment used from inventory. Inform Supervisor of parts and equipment used from inventory.

• Housekeeping/Other: Perform housekeeping duties required of maintenance staff including work area clean-up, machine and equipment clean-up, sweeping up after clean-up and various other general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Proficient in performing production equipment preventive maintenance. Able to diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions.

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations/requirements.

• Able to identify and perform Level A, B, & C equipment preventive maintenance. Able to read and understand schematics/blueprints.

• Computer literate: Basic computer skills.

• Ideal candidates will have experience with Inventory Software, Manufacturing Software, and Order Processing systems.

• Must demonstrate good time management skills.

• Willingness to attend training classes to learn or enhance skills.

• Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports.

• Ability to calculate area, circumference, volume, etc.

• Ability to work independently on nights and weekend shifts.

• Ability to speak and communicate effectively utilizing the English language

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Associate's Degree (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

• 1-3 years of related experience.

• Electro-mechanical experience.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

• Preferred Certifications/Licensures: (• Powered Industrial Truck Certification)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly performing heavy lifting, exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to chemicals that require special handling and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Hourly Pay Rate: $28.00 to $31.00, plus $1.25 hourly shift differential (3rd shift).

Hours - Must be available to work overtime/weekends as needed

The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
