A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

In this role, you support all aspects of building maintenance and upkeep. You love that you are not stuck in an office cubicle all day but get to move around our production plant performing various tasks.

You are a hands-on, get-it-done person who is flexible and quick to respond when called to handle any issue. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills come into play as you regularly interact with others internally and outside contractors and regulatory commissions.

You carefully perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs on mechanical and electrical plant utilities and systems. Safety is a priority for you, and you always take proper precautions from the protective equipment you use to the careful procedures you follow.

Your excellent maintenance keeps everything performing as designed while assuring compliance with regulatory requirements. You diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems and use your fantastic troubleshooting skills to resolve them.

With attention to detail, you keep accurate and up-to-date records, including logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance orders. You conduct failure analyses and research preventative options, working to achieve optimal machine uptime metrics.

You order spare parts and keep them organized to ensure that you have what you need when you need it. You feel great about playing such an essential role in helping us meet production goals!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Three years of experience working with mechanical and electrical equipment

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and production safety practices, including LOTO

  • Electrical knowledge including schematics, PLC, 480v/3 phase, D/C motors, Yaskawa A/C drives, wiring, and control logic

  • Solid understanding of industrial mechanical principles including hydraulics, pneumatics, and controls

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime according to needs

Familiarity with boilers and MIG/TIG welding is a plus! Are you a team player who can also work independently?

WORK SCHEDULE:

The hours for this role are Monday through Friday, from 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

To troubleshoot and repair of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical failures; performs preventive maintenance and inspection on production machines and equipment according to a scheduled system while maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Assists in the teardown and rebuild of an injection-molding machine. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and periodic inspections on production machinery and equipment. Lubricates and cleans parts. Adjusts devices positions and controls. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Troubleshoots mechanical failures. Repairs or places defective parts. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Installs parts into devices. Starts devices to determine their performance. Maintains spare parts inventory. Orders parts. Computer work as workload dictates. Keeps an accurate record of work performed. Performs other routine duties as necessary. Keeps work areas clear and free of debris. Adheres to safety rules and ergonomic practices. The perfect person will have: High School Diploma or Equivalent 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have knowledge of injection molding equipment, flywheel and hydraulic presses or assembly equipment. Must have basic computer skills, PLC programming, ladder logic, hydraulics and pneumatics aptitude. Must read and interpret Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical schematics. Mechanical troubleshooting skills, electrical troubleshooting skills. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on as needed basis. Must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. Must be able to work the required shift.
