Charter Medical, LLC is a life sciences company that is committed to designing, developing, and manufacturing quality products to support cell and gene therapy, bioprocessing, and blood management. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Manufacturing team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and maintenance of our company's equipment and facility. This hands-on role requires an individual with the ability to problem solve and exercise attention to detail. Additionally, the Technician will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operation throughout our facility by performing preventative maintenance (PM), root cause analysis, and through utilization of both internal and external resources.
Flexible hours on 2nd shift; however, this position will train on 1st shift for the first few months. Shift hours: 3:00pm
11:00pm Mon-Fri or 12:00pm
8:00 pm Mon-Fri Primary responsibilities include: Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) per manufacturing specifications and schedules, methodically working through equipment/process issues to identify root cause of failure.
Troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical manufacturing equipment issues using control knowledge, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and three-phase, collaborating with other maintenance technicians to develop and install proper repairs. Tests and diagnoses malfunctioning machinery, diagnose and replace faulty electrical machine components such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices, using machine schematics or PLC devices. Follow Good Document Practice (GDP) for work performed, updating maintenance work order system.
Maintains inventory of spare parts for the equipment and facility. Replaces air conditioner filters, damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles and wall coverings; assists with maintaining daily operation of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system. Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and follows applicable Quality Management System (QMS) documentation (e.g., SOP's, Work Instructions) to successfully accomplish job requirements.
Follows Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies and procedures, including wearing hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, eye protection as required, and gowning procedures in designated areas. Follows established safety requirements and adheres to the Health Safety and Environment Management System. Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential functions include ability to stand, walk, sit and/or move around in a controlled environment frequently, use hands to grasp and perform fine manipulation frequently, stretch/reach with hands and arms frequently, lift arms overhead frequently, climb or balance occasionally, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently, talk or hear frequently, lift up to 50lbs occasionally, push/pull often.
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. Minimum of two years electrical and mechanical knowledge and experience required. Basic understanding of GMP and working within FDA regulated industries.
Ability to work a rotating on-call work schedule up to 1 week per month. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematics. Ability to comprehend and follow SOP's, WI's, policies, and procedures such a safety, quality, and HR that are written in English.
Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and management. Business communication is conducted in English. Possess basic mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Basic computer skills including ability to use MS Outlook. Must be able to work extended hours when required. Nice to have:
