Summary of Responsibilities:

Performs general repairs and maintenance of Jackson production and support equipment, buildings, equipment, and grounds. Area of emphasis is Assembly and Paint support.

Primary Duties:

  • Trouble shoots equipment problems and recommends appropriate action to resolve.

  • Primary responsibilities are troubleshooting assembly equipment and paint systems.

  • Supports facilities & assembly line equipment.

  • Follows all safety policies and work practices.

  • Provides technical assistance and information to various individuals involved in the production processes.

  • Communicate effectively with personnel in a professional manner that facilitates teamwork.

  • Completes all work order documentation in accordance with department processes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications:

  • Formal maintenance or mechatronics training is helpful but not required.

  • Experience:

  • Previous experience troubleshooting mechanical, plumbing or electronic systems.

Required Skills:

  • Team player who can work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate a positive work attitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal guidance, to troubleshoot and resolve problems, prioritize and organize workloads.

  • Ability to obtain a forklift license.

Special Job Dimensions:

  • Occasional to frequent heavy lifting

  • Works in very warm and very cold conditions

  • Climbs ladders, operates various man-lifts.

  • Work at heights up to 35' off the ground.

  • Works with and around chemicals such as paints, solvents, oils

You'll deliver decisive blows to the enemy using howitzers and learn how to use high-tech cannon artillery weapons systems, plus artillery tactics and strategy. And as your skills increase, so will your responsibilities. Advanced Crewmembers supervise other crewmembers in the distribution of ammunition, as well as manage cannon operations, training, and maintenance. In the Army National Guard, you will learn these valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Job training for a Cannon Crewmember requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you learn basic Soldiering skills. Then you will attend Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which consists of seven weeks of additional training. Part of this time is spent in a classroom and part in the field under simulated combat conditions.
