Position Summary
- Maintains the facility and grounds in good condition during the entire year as directed.
- Mows, waters, trims, weeds, plants, etc.
- Sweeps walks and shovels snow.
- Collects and disposes of rubbish and trash.
- Replaces light bulbs and performs all necessary repairs to the building, equipment, and furnishings.
- Repairs, cleans, lubricates, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Cleans and maintains storage areas as assigned.
- Performs preventive maintenance as assigned and document appropriately in computer work order system.
- Maintains written records and log books as assigned.
- Performs corrective maintenance as assigned.
- Performs renovation maintenance to include cleaning, patching, scraping, painting, etc.
- Confers with the director of environmental services regarding approaches to specific maintenance or repair problems.
- Unloads trucks, receives merchandise, and places that merchandise in a neat and orderly manner in assigned storage areas.
- Picks up supplies and/or equipment, as directed, from various local and out-of-town vendors.
- Assists third-party contractors in their work at the direction of the director of environmental services.
- Participates in inventory and supply distribution processes as assigned.
- In performance of assigned job duties, interacts with residents in a cheerful/positive manner and shall be respectful of resident's personal belongings.
- Teamwork and participation: maintains an effective relationship with all departments and professional staff; and participates on facility committees as assigned.
Qualifications
At a minimum, must be able to acquire sufficient knowledge and learn new skills through on-the-job training and instructions to satisfactorily meet job performance requirements at the end of the introductory period.
