Maintenance Technician 1

Carlisle Construction Materials, a worldwide leading diversified manufacturer of premium building products and related technology, has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician (3rd shift) at its CCM Polyiso plant in Lake City, FL.

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.

• Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed

• Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.

• Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data.

• Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.

• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.

• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.

• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.

• Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment

• Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.

• Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).

• As directed execute projects on an as needed basis.

• Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.

• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

• Activities occur inside an insulation manufacturing Job includes but are not limited to exposure to the following.

• Temperatures exposed to both Ambient/outside

• Nuisance dust, use of chemicals, working with mechanical parts, pinch points

• Noise of industrial machinery

• Fumes from solvent, forklift exhaust and tractor-trailers

• Pinch point on moving mechanical parts

• Heavy equipment operation including forklift and yard tractor

• Typically 40 hour per week with overtime as required

• Shift is typically Monday-Friday, shift with start/ending times varied, with weekend work required as production, shipping or warehouse needs dictate

• Fast paced 24/7 operation

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

• Ability to grasp, push, pull up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach above shoulders, bend, and twist.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:

• Carlisle Construction Materials requires the use of PPE that is appropriate for the job task and area of the facility in which an employee is working.

• Safety shoes and safety glasses are a minimum requirement inside the plant and surrounding areas unless otherwise defined by management. A reimbursement is available for the required type of safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.

• Additional PPE may be required when deemed appropriate for the task by management.

Travel Requirement

• Overnight travel up to 10%, this will include travel to other facilities and to trainings

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

• Experience with forklift driving required

Equipment Used:

• Forklift

• CB radio

• Office equipment (computer, phone, kiosk)

• Computer systems (RFGen)
