The Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta (LCCA) is a multi-discipline behavioral healthcare center that offers mental health services to the communities of surrounding Augusta, Georgia. Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta is currently seeking a multiskilled Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician will install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in organization?s facilities. This position is full time and is on-call for weekends.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

Valid state drivers license.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk and hear; and taste and smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock; and risk of vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

While performing the duties of this job the employee may be exposed to clients who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or rage, exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: * Performs all lubrication of bearings, chains, conveyors, gear reducers & motors. * All hydraulic power unit preventive maintenance, including reservoir, filters, temperature monitoring, oil sampling, & fluid levels. * Preventive maintenance on all gear reducers. * Repair/replace grease fittings, hoses, piping, and tubing. * Maintains oil shed area and inventories. * Troubleshoots hydraulic unit problems. * Maintain hydraulic systems housekeeping. * Perform Hydraulic PM's. * Other tasks necessary to assist in the maintenance of the Augusta Lumber Mill. * Demonstrate a sense of urgency in responding to and repairing a problem, accurately and safely in order to get the mill running as soon as possible. * Understand and comply with all plant job safety requirements, including Lock-out/tag out procedures. Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: * High School Diploma or GED preferred. * Any active discipline must be below 3rd step * Must have a complete set of hand tools in accordance with tool requirement list * Posses the ability to work with others * Posses the willingness to accept greater responsibility * Must be able to work with little of no direct supervision and be able to handle high stress situations * Demonstrated math and reading comprehension skills * Have a demonstrated pattern of safe behavior * Be willing to acquire additional education / skills via continuing training courses as necessary, including basic electrical trouble shooting * Candidate should have a current understanding of the maintenance department processes Candidates should have previous maintenance and hydraulic experience and be able to work independently, have good organizational skills, be able to make independent decisions, and work in high stress situations. Familiarity with the plant's manufacturing process flow and equipment is preferred. This position requires strong initiative, alertness, and attention to detail. * Employee Incentive is a one-time payment made in the first full pay period of December 2020. * Must be employed on the payout date to receive payment.
