Salary: (Non-negotiable) $40,726 - $54,184 Pay Grade 8 (Includes benefits package) Hours: 12 months, 40 hours, 260 days Contract Unit: This position is part of the non-supervisory support services bargaining unit.
FLSA: Non-exempt Minimum requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Master Plumber License or ability to obtain one within three months of employment. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing fixtures and related systems. Maryland backflow certification or ability to obtain same within three months of employment. Thorough knowledge and understanding of national, state of Maryland, and local plumbing codes.
Ability to work on all types of plumbing devices and fixtures. Thorough knowledge of the standard practices, tools, terminology , theory, safety hazards, and safety precautions of the plumbing trade. Possession of a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities: Install, maintain and repair all types of plumbing fixtures and associated systems at a masters level. Install, repair and test backflow devices. Expertly troubleshoot plumbing systems and associated equipment and make repair as needed.
When required, may be tasked with purchasing supplies and materials necessary to complete work assignments. Assist the Team Leader/Foreman in setting project priorities. Can use digital hand held devices to document and organize daily work.
Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and blueprints. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the most current plumbing code and regulations. Maintain electronic flush valves, sinks and water fountains.
Perform routine work on sprinkler systems and valves. Willing to work beyond an eight (8) hour day and respond to after hour's emergency calls. Ability to work independently, while maintaining a high level of communication with supervision. Perform other related work as required or assigned.
