PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Pre-PM of all machinery, parts, belts, oil, bearings, etc. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment by performing the following duties.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions to include testing of machinery and equipment
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction, discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine
Performs proper scheduling of work to maximize task completion with minimal plant disruption, reduction in unscheduled downtime while lowering costs, and creating higher plant efficiency
Dismantles defective machines and equipment, installs new or repaired parts
Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
Look for visible wear or defects on machinery daily
Lays out, assembles, installs, maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
Sets up and operates machine tools such as drill press, band saw, and grinder to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
Helps with training others as needed
Comply with Pager and Call-in for Supervisor on occasion
Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines
Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions
Must complete all paperwork and electronic records in an accurate, legible, and timely manner to include repair orders, demand orders, preventative maintenance records and other items as required
Maintain a clean work environment including the machine, floors, desks, and fans in accordance with our 5S system
Other duties:
1st inventory glue gun parts
2nd get feed belts back up to PM
Air filters to the compressor room
Backup Stockroom doorman
Blow out or replace filters for gluers
Box up and ship out Anilox rollers
Box up and ship out rubber rollers
Cut all cutter belts for PM's
Cut and glue GJ-6 machine belts
Help Operators when they come to the shop
Help with broken/missing parts. Make repairs, replace or reorder
Keep maintenance shop uncluttered
Keep with all oil, have used picked up
Keep track of/order feed belt for PKE-60, gluers and windows
Keep up with Bobst gluer belt stock
Keep up with ordering belt material
Keep up with parts that I make in stock
Lug chains for window machines, PKE 60 TFG 11
Make stripping wires for all cutters
PM all case sealers
PM all EZ loaders
PNM Zebra labelers on conveyors
Put holes in window feed belts
Rebuild feed rolls
Rebuild Sandpiper pumps for Print services
Repair Aero pumps for PF47 same pumps as tray glue
Repair tray glue pumps
Repair ink pumps for trays
Repair anything that comes to Pre PM table
AUTHORITY: Must have the ability to lead a crew that has been placed with them to execute the demands of the maintenance operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and written instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, or one year related manufacturing experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Able to calculate figures, amounts such as proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Apply the concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must become a Certified Fork Lift operator in accordance with SCT training and carry a copy of your certification with you.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with arms and hands. Frequently is required to climb, balance, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts/moves 25 to 75 pounds. Must be able to perform these functions for a minimum of 8 hours straight (with a 30-minute meal break any other applicable breaks during the shift) on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team member successfully performing the essential functions of this job. Regular attendance and reporting for work on time are necessary requirements as is availability for overtime work if necessary.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Exposure to a dusty atmosphere with loud noise, which may require both eye and ear protection in some areas. Moving mechanical parts will also be exposed; safety guards have been put in place for the safety of all Team members but during set up, if a machine must be broken down and reassembled to complete the next job, questions regarding such operation should be directed to your supervisor as they arise.
