Seeking maintenance professionals to provide exceptional service at apartment communities.
Maintenance staff is responsible for all aspects of property maintenance including curb appeal, service requests, apartment turnovers, preventative maintenance, and relations with associates, contractors, and team members.
About the Position:

Preparing or completing service requests
Inspecting grounds & common areas
Troubleshooting repair issues
Preparing and fulfilling turnover checklists
Preventative or seasonal maintenance (such as winterization or pool openings)
Lock installations
Updating inventory logs
Maintenance team support
Health and safety maintenance (such as sprinkler systems or smoke detectors)
Communicating with residents regarding service requests
Communicating with management about complaints or community violations

About the Candidate:

High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
Professional appearance and willingness to follow community's dress code
Reliable means of transportation
Proven ability to be prompt and on time every day
Outgoing, self-motivated, and highly RELIABLE a must
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to solve problems and work with minimal supervision, when necessary
Completing work in a timely, cost effective, and accurate manner
Respectful of the boundaries of confidentiality, fair housing laws and safety
Experience with basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry necessary and general HANDYMAN experience a big plus!
CPO and HVAC certification is a PLUS

VIEW JOBS 12/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-11T00:00 Description The City of Anaheim Community Services Department is seeking Senior Recreation Leaders for the Adult Sports Program and Brookhurst Community Center. These are part time positions of approximately 10-20 hours per week; however, no minimum number of hours is guaranteed. Candidates may work in one or both of the program areas listed below based on skill set: Adult Sports Program: Adult Basketball and Flag Football League score keeping, supervise and monitor use of facilities, inspect for safety/cleanliness, prepare facility for users, provide information, prepare reports, establish working relationships with groups and provide assistance to meet their needs. Must be available weeknights and weekends. Brookhurst Community Center: Typical duties include setting up tables and chairs for facility users, inspect facilities for safety/cleanliness, provide information regarding facility, programs and services, supervise and monitor use of facilities, prepare reports, establish working relationships with the public and facility user groups, and provide assistance to meet their needs. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available. Must be able to work weekends sometimes as late as 1:00 a.m. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS This position requires a specific knowledge of and interest in sports, arts and crafts, education, leisure activities for youth and/or adults, and or community center and facility maintenance and operations. This class is distinguished from the Program Specialist in that the latter is responsible for all program planning, staff supervision, and administration for a particular recreational program area. Essential Functions Responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Monitor league games and spectator control. * Prepare reports and maintain records as assigned. * Supervise and monitor proper use of facilities. * Maintain a safe program environment for participants, facility users, and staff; care and maintain all equipment issued; inform supervisor when there are hazards or when equipment needs replacing. * Provide information to patrons concerning facility use and reservation process. * Provide general program and service information to the public at the front counter and by phone. * Provide exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. * Utilize registration software to access rental information and scheduled rentals. * Establish working relationships with groups and provide assistance to meet their needs. * Monitor facility use; troubleshoot participant and facility users concerns; ensure facility set-ups are safe, properly set-up, and meet the facility users needs; * Properly set up and meet the facility user's needs; ensure facility set-ups are safe; troubleshoot participant and facility users concerns, and monitor facility use. * Set up facilities for scheduled use as required, including indoor and outdoor scheduled uses. * Explain and monitor proper use of equipment to facility user. * Plan, organize, implement, lead, and assist in one or more recreation program, activities, and/or systems at one or multiple sites; plan, evaluate, and schedule programs. * Assist customers at the front desk and on the telephone with questions or concerns regarding recreation programs and services and facility rentals; register customers for classes and facility rentals using Department registration and facility software; resolve enrollment and facility rental issues. * Assist customers at concession counter; oversee the collection, recording and depositing of all monies received. * Provide direction to Recreation Leaders and other part-time staff and volunteers; assign tasks and duties and monitor performance. * Prepare facilities, including sports fields, youth care centers, and community centers, for programs and services; clean up facility at conclusion of event, rental, or program. * Communicate with parents and school site staff regarding programs. * Officiate youth sports games; set-up and take down tables, chairs, sporting and gymnastics equipment, and other equipment and materials. * Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Qualifications Experience and Training Guidelines: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities are as follows: * Related experience related in the recreation program to which assigned. * Experience working with the public. * Principles, practices, and service delivery needs related to the program area(s) to which assigned. * Procedures for planning, implementing, and maintaining a variety of recreation and leisure activities and programs; recreational, cultural, age-specific, and social needs of the community. * Basic principles of employee and volunteer supervision and training. * The ability to supervise the facility and the user groups. * The ability to understand and interpret written and oral instructions, policies and procedures. * The ability to write reports and complete various forms. * Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and guidelines related to the program area and facilities to which assigned; recreation site management and oversight. * The ability to enforce rules and regulations with facility users. * Safety principles and practices, including basic first aid and adult and/or child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) methods; applicable safety precautions and procedures related to the program area(s) and facilities to which assigned. * Principles and practices of basic public relations techniques. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to maintain effective working relationships with others. * Principles and procedures of record keeping, cash handling, and report preparation; business arithmetic and statistical techniques. * Modern office practices, methods, computer equipment and computer applications. * English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation. * Techniques for effectively dealing with individuals of various ages, various socio-economic and ethnic groups, and effectively representing the City in contacts with the public. * Techniques for providing a high level of customer service by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors and City staff. * Plan, oversee, implement, and coordinate assigned recreation program operations and activities, as well as staff, contractors, and volunteers. * Plan and prepare recreation activities, reports, and other related program materials. * Understand the organization and operation of recreation programs and facilities necessary to assume assigned responsibilities. * Interpret, apply, explain, and ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. * Work independently while supervising facilities and user groups. * Understand, interpret, and apply facility use policies and procedures. * Provide courteous assistance to facility patrons. * Lift and move tables and chairs and arranging facilities for community events and/or meetings. * The ability to walk, run, bend, carry, lift, push, load/unload supplies and set up equipment (up to 50 lbs.). * Handle rescues, medical emergencies and injuries in a calm and effective manner, including providing basic first aid and adult and/or child cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). * Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and secure manner. * Operate modern office equipment including computer equipment and software programs. * Maintain accurate logs, records, and basic written records of work performed. * Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing. * Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines. * Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. * Bilingual (Spanish) highly desirable, but not required. * Possession of a current (less than two years) tuberculosis clearance slip. * Must be able to obtain a work permit prior to appointment if under the age of 18. * Possession of a valid California Driver's License by date of appointment.
