Overview

Reporting to and under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Tech Coordinator is responsible for processing work orders, scheduling preventive maintenance and purchase orders in accordance with SGVMC policies.

Demonstrates knowledge of hospital operations and policies and procedures. Fully aware of hospitals confidentiality policy and fully complies with it.

Knowledgeable with proper office procedures. Demonstrates fully functional filling systems for different projects, construction and testing\inspections, etc. Assist Director of Facilities with handling of purchase requisition, scheduling contractors and documentation.

Ensure efficient coordination of the department operations. Keeps director informed on the status of scheduled repair projects. Independently recognizes and performs duties which need to be done without being directly assigned.

Participates in emergency management activities. Establishes priorities; organizes work and time to meet them. Recognizes and responds to priorities, accepts changes and new ideas.

Uses time effectively and constructively. Adheres to attendance and punctuality requirements per Hospital policy. Work day, evening or night shift as assigned.

Observes all Hospitals and departmental policies governing conduct while at work. Participates actively and positively affects the outcomes of customer service activities. Facilitates and enhances communications.

Utilizes verbal and written communications methods, which enable others to clearly understand what being said. Establishes good rapport and working relationships with coworkers, and other Hospital staff. Observes SGVMC dress code policy and wears Hospital identification as required by our policy and procedures.

Work from written requisitions or verbal instructions. Determines whether repair or replacement is necessary and prioritizes.

Notify Director of Facilities of any problems or delays in repairs/projects. Report defective materials, faulty operation of equipment, and unusual matters to the director and appropriate personnel. Report any violation of OSHA regulations to Director of Facilities.

Audits preventive maintenance schedule and makes sure PM's are performed on a regular basis, per the calendar year. Assist Director of Facilities with on-going maintenance requirement needs, TJC/CMS compliance of the department and survey readiness. Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, clean and orderly condition.

Follow standard and prescribed safety regulations. Respond to facility emergencies. Maintain all equipment permits as required by SGVMC.

Participate in all scheduled department meetings. Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Previous facilities experience (preferred)

  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

VIEW JOBS 5/22/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-08-20T00:00 Overview This position is responsible for the decontamination preparation and sterilization of instruments for all areas of the hospital. * Decontaminates, cleans assembles and sterilizes simple to moderately complex instrument trays. * Operates all equipment in the processing area, including steam sterilizer, tunnel washer and heat sealer in a safe manner. * Prepares trays, packs, linen, instruments and other special items for steam sterilization. * Assists in the maintenance of departmental records. * Maintains accurate sterilization and biological indicator records. * Keeps accurate control records of equipment and instruments issued to all patient care areas and of their return. * Demonstrates skill in inspecting, assembling and wrapping instrument trays. Checks for contamination, tears, holes and moisture in wrapped trays. * After each load, checks the sterilizer recording charts for proper function of sterilizer temperatures, pressure and time cycles. Initials each load run. Reports any malfunction to the coordinator. * Receives shift report daily. * Attends meetings as required and actively participates in assignments in an effective manner. * Demonstrates ability to organize time, prioritize activities and solve problems. * Maintains cart and stock areas in a clean and orderly fashion. * Maintains security of supplies by ensuring doors are locked and closed at all times and reporting any unauthorized personnel to security.
