Description

NIGHT SHIFT 7 PM- 7 AM (12 HR SHIFTS) including every other weekend.

The Maintenance Tech 2 will service the Plants Production departments to ensure that all equipment performs as required while maintaining a safe work environment. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the reliability, improvement, new equipment installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing and support equipment, buildings, and building systems.

Works with engineers and manufacturing resources to resolve problems and mechanical failures. The Maintenance Tech will troubleshoot problems using the skills that the Tech is trained and/or certified in.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Safe operation of all Rowland manufacturing equipment.

Certified to drive and operate Rowland Fork Trucks within the Plant.

This Job Description also includes all criteria required in the Maintenance Technician 1 position.

Understand and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.

Comply with all OSHA regulations and Company Policies.

Provide prompt Maintenance support to the Production Department.

Effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment in the Production Area as required in order to minimize production downtime.

Provide Maintenance Support during Extrusion teardowns and/or changeovers.

Conduct scheduled checks for spotting any equipment malfunctions.

Perform tasks as directed in the execution the Preventative Maintenance Program.

Perform Building and Grounds Maintenance (Painting, Weeding, Snow Removal, Cleaning, Lighting, etc.)

Ensure that the Maintenance Area is kept clean and organized.

Effectively work with all Maintenance Technicians and Production Employees in a helpful and respectful manner.

As Production demands require, occasionally work weekends or be on call.

Complete special projects and assignments that are not specific to this outline but as required and directed by Supervisor.

Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned or as the situation dictates.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Should have excellent verbal communication skills.

Must have a working knowledge of hand and power tools.

Must have a familiarity with the equipment in the plant and where and how it is used.

Must have a working knowledge of piping and plumbing repair.

Must have a basic familiarity with welding and joining of various metals (Arc, MIG, TIG, Braze, Solder etc.).

Must be clean and organized.

Must be a team player and work well with others.

Follow prescribed safety policies in accordance to Rowlands Safety program; use required PPE as specified for each Job Function.

All Safety training requirements must be up to date: the company AND Each Technician is responsible for the completion of the required Training.

Maintains an optimal level of product quality and adheres to Rowlands Quality Program

The Technician must be capable of training other Employees in tasks/positions that they are certified in. Success will be determined on the trainee demonstrating proficiency in the task/position being trained.

The Technician is expected to complete one Position enrichment assignment per year. Assignments should be a collaboration between the Supervisor and Technician.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma.

Connecticut E-2 Unlimited Journeymans License

Work Experience:

2+ years of previous Industrial manufacturing experience.

Experience with drive systems is a MUST.

Must be a fast learner, driven and self-motivated; strive towards continuous improvement

Required to maintain a clean and presentable appearance.

Technician is expected to be prepared to do their job function, and at their workstation by the beginning of the shift.

Technicians are expected to have minimum unplanned absences, as defined by the "Employee Attendance Expectations".

The Technician must maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. This includes maintaining all tools and equipment.

It is expected that the Technician works well with others; work cooperatively between shifts and departments in order that the overall company benefits.
