POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of the production mechanic is to assist in installing and troubleshooting all equipment. The maintenance mechanic should monitor the machinery on a regular basis to ensure safety and efficiency. All employees, the company and community benefit from the work done by the mechanic ensuring that all equipment is working according to plant needs and customer specifications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all production equipment in assigned area under the guidance of higher-level production mechanics.

  • Maintain open, accurate communication with other maintenance employees as well as production management.

  • Complete all assigned work orders completely and accurately document all prudent information describing the completion of the work order.

  • Perform technical maintenance tasks under close supervision.

  • Provide all information necessary to maintain proper parts inventories.

  • Work with production operators to identify process improvements wherever possible.

  • Assist with other duties and responsibilities as needed.

  • Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification

  • Driver's license

  • HazMat

  • Confined Space Entry

  • LOTO

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in a maintenance occupation in a manufacturing environment with strong industrial electrical ability or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties.

  • Basic understanding of 3-phase electricity.

  • Ability to maintain various pumps (positive pressure, centrifugal, etc.).

  • Ability to work independently when directed.

  • Ability to structurally weld varying common metals.

  • Working knowledge of motor controllers, low voltage electrical systems, proximity switches, photo-eyes, and variable frequency drives.

  • Basic understanding of schematics and blue prints.

  • Basic understanding of various diagnostic equipment including, but not limited to, ohms meters, voltage meters, etc.

  • Thoroughly understand and follow all OSHA and Company regulations as they relate to the maintenance field (LOTO, CSE, PPE, etc.).

  • Strong written and verbal skills.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Take a look at how Michael Foods is giving back to the community during this difficult time! https://lnkd.in/e8EVU2Z POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the mixer operator is to set up the mixing room, to direct proper liquid egg flow to the holding tanks, and to ensure the proper mix of egg product and ingredients determined by customer formulas and specifications. Employees, customers, and consumers benefit from the work of the mixer operator by having an excellent tasting, safe, high quality product made available to them in a timely manner. This person must take the initiative to maintain a safe, quality product; is responsible for the work area, keeping it clean and as bacteria free as possible during production hours, ensuring that product is not mixed with foreign matter. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Set up the mixing room and ensure the correct formulation of liquid egg product and ingredients using the pre-determined procedures approved by the company. * Ensure accuracy and quality of the individual batches to be mixed and transferred to the proper holding tank. * Set up for each line running ensuring there is a continuous flow of product to each line and that it will run out at the correct time. * Ensure accurate transfer of liquid egg product from the Breaking Department to the Pre-Cooked Department and complete associated documentation. * Record appropriate LOT numbers, ph., and egg usage on the batch sheets and egg usage forms to meet Quality Assurance specifications. * Maintain scales and meters as needed to get as precise and accurate readings as possible. * Have thorough knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system in order to use it at the appropriate time. * Over sees the operation of the bowl chopper, and assists in re-work production. * Must have the ability to climb ladders inside a spiral freezer and maintain freezer coils ensuring they are frost free. * Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area. * Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. * RedZone * Precision Maintenance Line Walks * Train mixer assistants. * Work as a Team member. * Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification.
