The essential duties for Maintenance Support Tech I, II, III:

  • Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages and serves as receptionist or front desk assistant.

  • Maintains office files/records/logs and suspense systems.

  • Maintains records and inventories of materials, supplies and equipment.

  • Operates a variety of office machines.

  • Prepares, assembles, reviews and verifies various documents and forms

  • Proofreads input data for correct coding; proofreads output data to confirm entry accuracy.

  • Provides assistance to the public.

  • Assists in moving large bundles of correspondence, documents or boxes.

  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Maintenance Support Tech II & III additional duties:

  • Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.

  • Assists in processing payroll and verifying accuracy of hours to be paid.

  • Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with District Accounting.

  • Keeps equipment mileage and service records.

  • Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance, budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel and information and permitting activities.

  • Provides administrative support and maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of supervisors and staff.

  • Reviews, prepares and negotiates applicable program purchases for services, office materials, supplies, tools or equipment and monitors service agreements.

Maintenance Support Tech III additional duties:

  • Coordinates with District Warehouse personnel on surplus property sales of miscellaneous items.

  • Processes payroll and verifies accuracy of hours to be paid.

  • Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.

  • Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with District Accounting Office on adjustments needed.

Education

This job requires the following:

  • High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies

Work Experience

All positions require the following:

  • Experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time equivalent

  • No supervisory experience required.

  • College education and /or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on year per year basis.

Maintenance Support Tech I: 1 years in in Clerical/Administrative/Secretarial or Warehousing

Maintenance Support Tech II: 3 years in in Clerical/Administrative/Secretarial or Warehousing

Maintenance Support Tech III: 4 years in in Clerical/Administrative/Secretarial or Warehousing

Licenses and Certifications

The following Licenses and/or Certifications are required for this job:

  • Safety Impact Certificate

  • Valid Class C Driver's license at time of application

Other Conditions:

  • This is a Safety Impact position (either Safety Impact, Commercial Driver and/or Vessel Crew Member) and will be subject to random drug testing.

  • Safety Impact and Commercial Driver certifications are not required at the time of application. The Safety Impact and Commercial Driver certifications will be issued by TxDOT at the time of hire.*

Job Purpose The Plant Reliability Engineer will be responsible for the continued improvement/development of reliability programs and processes that have direct impact on key areas, such as safety, efficiency, effectiveness, customer satisfaction, innovation and quality. Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive failures. Develop and administer proactive maintenance program and equipment maintenance strategy based on site and business goals. Key Responsibilities * Support and implementation of the Root Cause analysis program. * Analyze equipment histories to identify and address specific repetitive failures. * Drive lean initiatives across the processes. * Further development and administration of the downtime tracking program to ensure consistency of tracking throughout the mill. * Regularly review downtime reports and equipment histories to identify solutions for reoccurring maintenance problems. * Oversight of the Plant Condition Monitoring/PM Program * Coordination with Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Area Leaders ensuring correct Condition Monitoring/PM activities are scheduled and performed when due. * Apply value analysis to make maintenance decisions, i.e., repair/replace and repair/redesign. * Specify and develop standard repair techniques for major repetitive tasks, such as component replacements. * Works with Maintenance Planner/Scheduler/Area Leaders, as necessary, to develop job scopes for major unique jobs. * Develop the standardization processes, which influence new construction and equipment purchases including materials, equipment and spare parts. * Identify potential cost reductions through extended parts life, reduced labor cost, and other part-related improvement techniques. * Participates in the review phase of design of capital additions and changes in plant layout to ensure full maintainability of equipment, utilities, and facilities. * Participates in approval of all new installations and technologies, including those done by contractors, to ensure their maintainability and reliability as influenced by life cycle costing * Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations. * Perform other duties as necessary.
