Assists the Maintenance Manager and other Maintenance staff with acquiring parts quotes, dealing with outside vendors, purchasing, receiving, inventory control, various scheduling tasks and maintaining documentation.
Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of parts and supply inventories.
Maintain organized parts room(s).
Conduct regular, periodic physical count of inventory.
Research, identify and locate potential vendors.
Obtaining vendor quotes and negotiate optimum price for parts and supplies.
Authorized to make purchases for the company.
Receive parts and supplies and see that they are properly identified, stored and added in to inventory.
Process and file all paperwork involved with purchasing, receiving and invoicing of maintenance parts and supplies.
Maintain the plant's Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) helping the plant to remain in compliance of the required Hazard Communication Standards.
Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). This includes but is not limited to continued development of the system, maintaining the equipment ID structure, editing and maintaining the work order system, printing work orders, entering completed work orders into the database and generating status reports as required.
Assist with the development of and modifications to the Preventative Maintenance schedules.
Assist with clerical and bookkeeping tasks as needed.
Compliance with all safety requirements.

Entry level rate of $11.00 per hour.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
The Maintenance Support Specialist must have above average computer skills, above average math skills, and above average verbal and written communication skills. The job requires a detail-oriented person who is accurate and consistent. Experience in inventory control, equipment, equipment parts, and computerized maintenance management systems is a plus. The job requires the ability to work independently and cooperatively in groups.

Not all work will be limited to an office environment. Some work will require entrance to various areas of the plant to gather data, review projects, conduct inventory related tasks etc. This will expose the Maintenance Support Specialist to potentially hazardous conditions, which will require the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). This position may require long periods of standing or sitting. Lifting is required when handling parts and supplies.
