Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Job Description Job Description: Located in the East Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA, the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal (CAMM) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor/ Maintenance Mechanic to provide hands-on and/or contracting of outside resources and effective management of maintenance staff to properly maintain and oversea daily building service operations for the CAMM administration/operations building and the Basilica Shrine of the Miraculous Medal.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Supervises both the operation and maintenance of both boiler and air conditioning operations at two buildings on-site Maintains, services, repairs, replaces, installs electrical and plumbing needs and assists with mechanical systems as required Selects and orders maintenance, electrical, plumbing, janitorial and lighting supplies At end of work day, secures CAMM building, including perimeter gates; turns off all lights in building; and sets building temperatures to unoccupied levels Assists with general housekeeping services; supervises and participates in set up/breakdown of rooms for events on-site at either the CAMM or Basilica Shrine building Prepares and paints building surfaces as required Inspects all roofs three times/year, performs small roof and gutter repairs and cleans gutters Removes snow and ice as required Maintains lawn, shrubs and perennials at CAMM; establishes general landscaping Maintains service and inspection of company vehicle and ensures repairs are made when required Assists other staff members or departments as necessary for mail delivery, package pick-ups, supply distribution, unloading trucks, general cleaning, traffic management, security duties, covering others in case of call outs or vacation, etc. Provides various other duties as needed The hours will normally be a 40 hour workweek.

However, this position will be responsible for covering emergency calls as needed in accordance with incumbent’s turn on an on-call schedule. Event coverage responsibilities will also be assigned in accordance with the on-call schedule. This means some evenings and weekends will be required.

Experience and skills required: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience Must be self-directed and capable of operating without direct supervision General knowledge of and experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other mechanical systems, as well as carpentry, masonry and painting processes Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance as well as experience in managing staff Valid U.S. Driver’s License This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits program, reporting directly to our Vice President of Member Services.
