Role Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team in monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of all onsite machinery and instrumentation. This position reports directly to the Facility Manager and has the support of the corporate reliability team for implementing programs and processes to increase the facility's productivity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Direct the efficient maintenance, improvement, installation, and safe operation of various types of processing equipment in compliance with company, state, and federal policies, procedures, and regulations including OSHA, FDA, SQF, AIB, EPA, GMP, NFPA, NEC, and other code and regulatory agencies.

  • Responsible for a team of technicians including training, coaching, mentoring, scheduling, and performance evaluation. Works with operations team to establish production line operating metrics such as efficiencies, up time, and reliability. Works with the corporate resources in reliability and safety to ensure company standards, policies, and procedures are adapted and adhered to at this location.

  • Provide technical support related to maintenance and reliability services for all production equipment throughout the facility. Assure lines are mechanically capable of meeting standard operating rates and reliability and improve up time and reliability for all lines.

  • Maintain an appropriate and adequate supply of inventory and parts. Identify and develop plans to improve equipment designs or department procedures to maximize asset availability. Works with the corporate reliability group to drive plant asset integrity and reliability programs including Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Programs, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Maintenance Scheduling, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), improvement through Lean Six Sigma Techniques and other Best Practices.

  • Optimize cost through efficient budget planning and management. Identify and implement cost-saving ideas for facility maintenance. Interface with vendors and contractors providing services to the facility to ensure company needs are met. Interface with associates in manufacturing, warehouse, planning, engineering, QA and other departments or improvement teams as needed as a technical resource.

  • Perform other job-related projects duties and assignments as directed. Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances which require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.

Basic Qualifications (Required)

  • Associate degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with at least 8 years' experience with industrial maintenance supervision and management; OR

  • BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN MECHANICAL OR ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING OR RELATED FIELD WITH AT LEAST FIVE YEARS EXPERIENCE WITH INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT; preferably in processing and consumer packaged goods industries with significant hands-on experience in leading maintenance teams.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in management will be considered.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to create a culture of accountability and teamwork.

  • Minimum of five years supervisory and people leadership experience.

  • TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) preferred with asset management best practices.

  • Significant record of achievement with regard to lean manufacturing support, continuous improvement, and breakdown reduction.

  • Ability to perform data manipulation and analysis using Microsoft Office suite.

  • Applicable systems and software knowledge.
