Purpose:

Responsible for scheduling, supervision, work assignment, training, evaluation and safety of maintenance mechanics. Provides assistance to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Directing activities of maintenance mechanics strong emphasis placed on employee development, performance expectations, and ensuring proper training as it relates to their job function.

  • Maintaining positive employee relations by providing a people-oriented work environment designed to motivate employees and reduce turnover.

  • Ensuring fast reaction & responses to repair calls/equipment breakdowns and timely repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Actively participate in all plant safety initiatives and promotes safety and housekeeping initiatives.

  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling production equipment.

  • Performing sanitary welding on equipment and food processing piping.

  • Troubleshooting identifying worn parts & rebuilding machine assemblies, pumps, meters, valves & valve actuators.

  • Will start up & operate production machinery and equipment.

  • Participation in facility maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.

  • Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to Hazardous communication & MSDS requirements.

  • Analyze electro-mechanical devices, trouble shoot failures and implement repairs

  • Prepare and conduct timely employee performance evaluations according to Company standards.

  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Supports food safety, quality and legality.

  • Implement, support, and maintain quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.

  • Incorporate and support GMP''s and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.

  • Implements and monitors overall production performance and quality standards and ensure objectives are established, documented, monitored, and reviewed. Ensure non-conformities identified in quality programs are addressed and corrected.

  • Communicates Safety, Quality, and Food Safety policies to all employees.

  • Support, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/Work Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of all governmental regulations concerning the operations, e.g. OSHA, FDA, HAACP, as well as good manufacturing practices for food processing facilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Personal computer skills to include spreadsheet software and word processing software (MS Word & Excel).

  • Proven competency in supervisory activities which require conflict management, developing subordinates, directing subordinates, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.

Education: Bachelor's Degree
5 years of related food experience to include at least 2 years at a Lead or Sr. Mechanic level.

VIEW JOBS 11/29/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-27T00:00 MaintenanceTechnician Works 4 days one week, 3 days the second week. This position is eligible for $7000 signing bonus. Summary This position is responsible to support the Maintenance Supervisor in directing work activities to start up shift operations, monitoring production processing procedures and work methods, and assigning work tasks to insure all production areas meet process and quality standards within the production schedules assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Perform duties of maintenance technician as described in the maintenance technician job description as well as lead other maintenance technicians. * Re-assign or perform maintenance tasks in any position to insure proper coverage during absences or breaks for regularly assigned employees. * Monitor work activity in all maintenance areas to address problems, insure processing procedures, safety rules, and sanitation standards are followed, * Responsible for the completion of daily work activities as assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator through Emaint work request system. * Oversees completion of his/her crew's work activities as assigned through Emaint work request system. * Responsible to communicate and elevate critical issues to department supervisor and/or manager * In absence of supervisor, act as liaison with personnel and/or department head for all personnel related concerns. Document any work injury or rule violation for Maintenance Supervisor review and action. * Assist Maintenance Supervisor with cross-training of personnel in job functions as need. * Safe handling and use of various chemicals with strict adherence to hazardous communication and MSDS requirements. * Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and person. Report any injury or accident immediately to supervisory and/or any unsafe condition. * Must be able to work a 12 hr shift (3 / 4 day work week with alternating weekends. * Must be able to work with food allergen products: Tree nuts, dairy, soy, eggs, wheat and cocnut. * Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities * Work with production, sanitation, quality and warehouse leaders. Assists with direction and coordination, and evaluation of the mainteanance team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems. * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
