We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor (Diesel Shop Foreman) for our Customer Service Center (CSC) in Wallingford, CT.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State/Provincial and local guidelines and requirements

  • Oversee (and personally comply with) the local implementation of NELLC maintenance and safety standard operating procedures in this maintenance facility, ensuring that local maintenance staff follow them, and comply with all locally applicable public authority legislation, regulation and standards

  • Oversee the local use of NELLC's EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) ERP application, and maintenance facility staff to record and to track local maintenance work orders and local parts inventory. (This includes using this application personally)

  • Oversee the parts inventory maintained and used in this maintenance facility

  • Oversee (and participate in when appropriate) the work needed to implement preventive maintenance for the vehicles serviced by this maintenance facility

  • Oversee (and participate in when appropriate) the work needed to complete "unscheduled repairs" to the vehicles services by this maintenance facility

  • Represent the maintenance activity at the local level in its interaction, communication and coordination of activities with other local operations functions: driver care, route operations, and customer care

  • Supervise the maintenance staff at this maintenance facility

  • 5 years of fleet Supervisor experience in a Diesel Shop with Heavy/Med duty fleets

  • Minimum of five years Auto / Truck or Bus mechanical repair experience

  • Experience with Compliance with the local applicable DOT compliance of Med / Heavy Trucks

  • Prefer ASE Certification as a Master Automotive Technician and/or a Master Truck Technician

  • Must be computer proficient

  • Strong experience with computerized diagnostics

  • Ability to use good judgment and Decision Making skills

  • Background in planning and scheduling maintenance repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly)

  • Oversee the parts inventory maintained and used in this maintenance facility

  • Supervisor experience in purchasing, and budget management experience

  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules

  • Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • ASE Certification desirable but not required

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-04T00:00 Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance operation of the center, and he/she is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on equipment. Other responsibilities of the Maintenance Supervisor include ordering and requisitioning supplies and equipment as needed, and performing regular daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checks, as shown on Preventive Maintenance Calendar. The Maintenance Supervisor follows established safety rules and policies and procedures of the maintenance department, keeps required records and submits them to the Administrator and Property Manager when required, and cooperates with other employees and department heads. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Coordinates and provides for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance of the grounds and building in a timely manner; 2. Maintains the building in good repair and free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, etc.; 3. Maintains the building and grounds in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws; 4. Maintains the fire alarm and emergency generator system in good working order, performs test on fire alarm and emergency generator system weekly and keeps required records of test results; 5. Performs preventative and corrective equipment maintenance; 6. Maintains required records and reports as outlined in the policies and procedures of the Maintenance Department; 7. Participates in budget planning for the Maintenance Department; 8. Orders and requisitions supplies subsequent to Administrator's approval; 9. Attends Department Head Meetings and sits on required committees; 10. Remains on call for emergencies 24 hours a day; 11. Performs other responsibilities, as may be required, and as directed by the Administrator; 12. Concerns his/herself with the safety of all center customers in order to minimize the potential for fire and accidents. Also, ensures that the center adheres to the legal, safety, health, fire and sanitation codes by being familiar with his/her role in carrying out the center's fire, safety and disaster plans and by being familiar with current MSDS; 13. Assigns work assignments and duty schedules; 14. Remains on call for emergencies seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day; 15.
