Job Summary:The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and teaching of their assigned Maintenance Team in order to achieve departmental and company goals. They are expected to ensure all work is completed in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The Maintenance Supervisor should foster a positive team approach that promotes employee involvement and innovation and that embodies a drive for success, ownership of responsibilities, and a passion for being the best. With minimal supervision, this role is expected to oversee diversified activities in the proactive maintenance and repair of state-of-the-art foundry equipment, systems, and processes. This individual is expected to partner with Production Supervision to maintain and improve operational performance while keeping a high level of focus on details and follow up.
Minimum Requirements:A successful candidate will have a high school diploma with strong leadership, communication, and organization skills. Advanced degree or technical certificate in a related field preferred. Six years maintenance experience in an industrial environment with technical training or formal skill development. Two years experience in an industrial maintenance supervisory role. Strong understanding of manufacturing, business operations and industrial manufacturing maintenance. Foundry Maintenance background is a plus. Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well and communicate with all levels in the organization. Must be able to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and formulate valid conclusions. Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows based products and computer skills. Ability to inspire a shared vision. Demonstrate good leadership and ethical practices. Good team-building skills. Ability to delegate tasks. Ability to function effectively under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Foster a safe, positive, and productive work environment while ensuring all company procedures and policies are followed.
Maintain a current knowledge of all company policies, goals, and procedures in order to communicate to and consistently enforce them with all employees.
Ensure compliance with all Safety policies, Safety training, and safe work practices and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
Provide day to day technical leadership for a crew tasked with maintaining production equipment to attain a high level of operational efficiency.
Be a "Hand's On" leader at times in order to teach and guide the team.
Utilize the CMMS to manage and track the activities of the maintenance team, improve preventative maintenance tasks, and creation of corrective action work orders.
Provide input for scheduling, organizing, and planning of maintenance related tasks to maximize operational effectiveness and employee utilization.
Execute the planned maintenance activities including Preventative, Predictive, Condition Based, and Corrective Maintenance tasks.
Respond to break downs and guide the team through the troubleshooting process to identify and correct the problem so the equipment is returned to a safe operating condition in a timely manner.
Ensure proper follow up occurs for any issues found or "temporary" repairs.
Provide reports to communicate work activities from the shift including details for any unplanned events.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities to identifies downtime causes and implement corrective actions to prevent or limit recurrences.
Provide coordination, cooperation, and effective communications with Production Supervision on maintenance and repair activities.
Provide input for the determination of needs related to critical spare parts, special tools, and equipment to ensure the highest level of reliability of production equipment.
Responsible for the skill development of maintenance personnel in their day-to-day activities, troubleshooting abilities, and equipment upkeep.
Oversight and direction of contractors or vendors to perform equipment inspections, repairs, and upgrades.
Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned or needed.
