Are you passionate about maintaining beautiful parks and open lands? Join our team at the Natural Resources Department as a Maintenance Supervisor!

This position involves developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance programs for buildings, facilities, grounds, and reservoirs across Larimer County's parks and open lands. Responsibilities encompass all aspects of maintenance and repair, including buildings, campgrounds, cabins, visitor service buildings, boat docks, buoys, and other related facilities. Additionally, this role includes tree, shrub, and lawn care, weed control, and other landscaping needs. The Maintenance Supervisor will also oversee crews of full-time and seasonal workers engaged in grounds and facilities maintenance, landscaping, and construction projects.

The typical schedule for this position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional on-call days, and the possibility of working on weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

  • Assists assigned manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating goals, objectives, policies, procedures, priorities, and programs.

  • Inspects and supervises the maintenance of park and recreation facilities.

  • Ensures equipment and supplies are available including proper safety equipment.

  • Supervises and assists assigned staff with proper techniques throughout all park areas.

  • Exercises direct, first-level supervision of positions, employees, operations, and activities within the assigned unit. Operates, trains, and supervises assigned staff in the operation of a variety of heavy and light equipment.

  • Coordinates projects with other County departments, other government agencies, and the public as needed.

  • Estimates the time, materials, and cost of projects and assists in developing project timelines.

  • Obtains quotes and prepares formal bids in accordance with County purchasing procedures for materials and services.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

  • Be able to analyze budget and expenses related to employee and project costs.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Five (5) years of experience performing maintenance work including grounds, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and/or mechanical required.

  • Two (2) years of experience supervising maintenance staff required.

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.

  • Possession of a valid CDL within one (1) year of hire date required.

  • OSHA or Safety Training required within one (1) year of hire date required.
