What You'll Be Doing:

You will contribute to the overall success of the facility by supervising the maintenance and upkeep of the Company's equipment, building(s), and grounds, in a manner that minimizes interruptions to the operation. Plans, directs, and implements safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment

Maintenance Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily operations of the Maintenance Department ensuring all organizational and departmental goals are met

  • Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation

  • Troubleshoots and resolves controls wiring problems and connections

  • Performs a variety of instrumentation services, terminations, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing

  • Set up new instrumentation and calibrates to specifications using schematics and drawings

  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance service. Supervises the employees assigned to the Maintenance Department, including security services

  • Performs preventive maintenance to prevent unnecessary expense and untimely failure, as needed

  • Coordinates, installs, inspects repairs, and maintains the electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems

  • Monitors the use and inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment

  • Maintains accountability for all assigned budget lines and capital expenditures

  • Assists, advises, and consults with all team members, as needed

  • Consults with vendors and security services to ensure satisfactory service levels and fair pricing

  • Makes recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance related problems

  • Plans, writes, and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA rules and regulations

  • Plans, develops, and implements programs to train managers and employees at the worksite on safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals toxins, equipment, and other procedures

  • Inspects facility to detect hazards. Leads investigations of accidents and injuries

  • Maintains safety files and records

  • Supervises employees in accordance with Helen of Troy's policies

  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees

  • Prepares work schedules, assigns duties, and directs work

  • Evaluates quality of work, conducts performance appraisals, and counsels employees

  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements for Consideration:

  • High School diploma and equivalent experience

  • Experience with a Fluke multi-meter

  • Experience with VFD modules

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and personal computers

  • Computer software experience including MS office (Excel, Word, IM), MHE software such as RSLogix.

  • Strong analytical skills: ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently

  • Ability to read electrical schematic, wiring diagrams, and PLC ladder and block logic

  • Ability to identify facilities-related maintenance problems and implement standard courses of action to resolve problems within established project timeframes and administrative and technical requirements

  • Must be a self-starter

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently

  • Excellent organizational, communication skills, both oral and written

  • Good management and time management skills.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Walking and moving about on foot for long distances

  • Standing for long periods of time

  • Lifting Moving objects between a lower and a higher position using upper body and back muscles

  • Sitting at desk, computer, etc.

  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
