This position is accountable for leading a team of maintenance employees, including electricians, mechanics & third party contractors, for a 24/7 operation.

The role requires collaboration with the other department supervisors, FSQR, procurement, admin and production team members to achieve goals & collaboration with peers at other locations in sharing leading practices in a manner that leads to engaging employees. Also provides technical knowledge & management skills in a first line supervisory level.

Principal Accountabilities
30% Develop, supervise, and provide employees support in achieving goals. Provide on-going training to employees to learn new tasks & deepen the talent pool of the facility. Manage employee performance through coaching & goal development.
25% Manage and promote EHS, FSQR & reliability processes & housekeeping. Ensure compliance with all company, state, federal & environmental guidelines & regulations.
20% Organize, plan & lead maintenance activities including storerooms, electrical and mechanical maintenance. Daily coordination with the operations department to schedule down time as needed to maintain equipment as well as ensuring that production needs are met.
10% Problem solving, troubleshooting, and solution implementation.
10% Asset improvements, continuous improvement activities, budget compliance & projection.
5% Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Required

  • 2 to 4 year college degree OR High school diploma (or equivalent) PLUS 5 years of equivalent maintenance or industrial work experience

  • 3 years experience (or more) in maintenance in manufacturing or food processing environment

  • 2 years (or more) of supervisory experience

  • Ability to coach and motivate team resulting in high performance & high engagement.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multifunctional teams with strong leadership & influencing skills.

  • Ability to technically advise and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.

  • Experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously attention to detail strong organization skills.

  • Ability to respond to calls for emergency work during off duty hours.

  • Ability to write, speak and follow written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs.

  • Ability to climb platform steps, ladders, and stairs.

  • Ability to perform elevated work.

  • Ability to work in all environments

  • Ability to bend and crawl in limited space.

  • Ability to travel (typically less than 5% of the time)

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles

  • OSHA 10 hour training in General Industry Safety and Health and/or OSHA 30 hour training in Construction Safety and Health.

  • Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP).

  • Knowledge and/or certification in predictive technologies (vibration, infrared, ultrasound, machinery lubrication)

  • HACCP or FSSC 22000 experience

  • Root cause analysis mindset and experience and/or facilitation

  • Continuous improvement experience or certifications

  • Experience with the National Electric Code and NFPA70E requirements.

  • Experience with mechanical equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor systems, packaging systems, air compressors, pumps and process piping.

  • Clear understanding of Reliability Excellence and working knowledge of reliability practices including precision work techniques

  • Proficient working knowledge of SAP, MS Office and Windows.

VIEW JOBS 11/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-04T00:00 Position Purpose The Maintenance Production Lead position is responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of all equipment within the Department. This will include such jobs that require a relatively high skill level having a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the processes involved in their work. Candidates for this position will be required to exercise considerable independent judgment and usually receive an extensive period of training. Maintenance Production Leads may work in a cold or warm environment doing a variety of tasks such as troubleshooting repairing work, performing preventative maintenance, working around raw meat, working with industrial electricity, hydraulics, bearings, welding, pneumatics, PLC's, vibration analysis, basic waste water, and basic ammonia refrigeration and various buildings and grounds work. Tools may be used including drills, saws, cutting disks, wire brush, hammer, screwdrivers, measuring tools, clamps, wrenches, work stands, pullers, etc. These roles require candidates to wear personal protective equipment and work within food safety requirements in order to deliver a safe product to the consumer. Principal Accountabilities 10% - through supervisor requests, conduct hands on training of machine operators within the Ground Beef Department 20% - respond to and following up on reactive Maintenance calls in the Ground Beef Department 50% - conduct preventative maintenance (PM) and follow up repairs from PM's within the Ground Beef Department 15% - Conduct daily line assignments by receiving a PM and walking assigned lines within the Ground Beef Department 5% - all other duties as assigned including maintenance assistance as needed in the entire facility Required Qualifications * At least one year of experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues on industrial equipment * At least one year of experience using hand tools such as drill press, hand drill, wrenches, threading machines, etc. * At least two years of experience working in a fast paced manufacturing enviornment Preferred Qualifications * Certification in Industrial Electricity I, II, and III * Certification in Motor Controls * Experience troubleshooting with PLC's * Working knowledge of fluid power, hydrolics, and pneumatics * Previous experience with Precision Maintenance * Bi Lingual in English/Spanish * One year of experience TIG Welding Cargill, Inc.
