This position is accountable for leading a team of maintenance employees, including electricians, mechanics & third party contractors, for a 24/7 operation.
The role requires collaboration with the other department supervisors, FSQR, procurement, admin and production team members to achieve goals & collaboration with peers at other locations in sharing leading practices in a manner that leads to engaging employees. Also provides technical knowledge & management skills in a first line supervisory level.
30% Develop, supervise, and provide employees support in achieving goals. Provide on-going training to employees to learn new tasks & deepen the talent pool of the facility. Manage employee performance through coaching & goal development.
25% Manage and promote EHS, FSQR & reliability processes & housekeeping. Ensure compliance with all company, state, federal & environmental guidelines & regulations.
20% Organize, plan & lead maintenance activities including storerooms, electrical and mechanical maintenance. Daily coordination with the operations department to schedule down time as needed to maintain equipment as well as ensuring that production needs are met.
10% Problem solving, troubleshooting, and solution implementation.
10% Asset improvements, continuous improvement activities, budget compliance & projection.
5% Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
2 to 4 year college degree OR High school diploma (or equivalent) PLUS 5 years of equivalent maintenance or industrial work experience
3 years experience (or more) in maintenance in manufacturing or food processing environment
2 years (or more) of supervisory experience
Ability to coach and motivate team resulting in high performance & high engagement.
Demonstrated ability to lead multifunctional teams with strong leadership & influencing skills.
Ability to technically advise and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
Experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish goals.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously attention to detail strong organization skills.
Ability to respond to calls for emergency work during off duty hours.
Ability to write, speak and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Ability to lift 55 lbs.
Ability to climb platform steps, ladders, and stairs.
Ability to perform elevated work.
Ability to work in all environments
Ability to bend and crawl in limited space.
Ability to travel (typically less than 5% of the time)
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
Mechanical aptitude demonstrated in previous roles
OSHA 10 hour training in General Industry Safety and Health and/or OSHA 30 hour training in Construction Safety and Health.
Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP).
Knowledge and/or certification in predictive technologies (vibration, infrared, ultrasound, machinery lubrication)
HACCP or FSSC 22000 experience
Root cause analysis mindset and experience and/or facilitation
Continuous improvement experience or certifications
Experience with the National Electric Code and NFPA70E requirements.
Experience with mechanical equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor systems, packaging systems, air compressors, pumps and process piping.
Clear understanding of Reliability Excellence and working knowledge of reliability practices including precision work techniques
Proficient working knowledge of SAP, MS Office and Windows.
