Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor - Food Manufacturing
Work Location: Los Angeles, CA
Hours: 40 hours per week + 10 hours overtime expected.
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time
OVERVIEW:
An international food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for its plants in Los Angeles. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position will lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment.
This role requires strong industrial electrical expertise, PLC programming, and production automation systems knowledge. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader available to work weekends and holidays and have excellent technical skills, particularly in electrical systems and automation, to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Team Leadership: Guide, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, promoting a cooperative and productive work atmosphere.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Oversee and conduct advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, and automation equipment.
PLC Management: Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs to ensure optimal performance of automated production systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
Task Management: Assign and prioritize maintenance tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of work orders.
Equipment Installation: Coordinate and supervise the installation and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Reliability and Efficiency: Lead initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, improve production processes, and reduce downtime.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including electrical schematics, PLC programs, and equipment logs. Generate reports on maintenance performance and metrics.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to support manufacturing objectives and resolve technical issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of industrial machine maintenance experience required.
Food manufacturing equipment maintenance experience required.
Supervisory experience is required.
Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI/SCADA systems.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
