The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of Maintenance of Production equipment/machinery. This person will display excellent communications skills, organizational skills and leadership. Reporting to this position will be the maintenance technicians and the maintenance clerk.


  • Manages all preventive maintenance processes and initiatives to insure manufacturing goals are met

  • Supports compliance with plant EHS systems and programs by:

  • Assuring departmental audits are complete, corrective actions are implemented, and audit data is reported for key performance indicator metrics

  • Performing job duties in safe and responsible manner, setting example for employees

  • Trains and coaches direct reports in all standard operation procedures.

  • Maintains the facility and grounds to set standards including ensuring the facilities utilities are monitored and paid.

  • Assigns personnel and determines use of the equipment to achieve dept. goals.

  • Purchases and maintains spare part inventory to insure minimal downtime due to equipment failure.

  • Prepares and is responsible for department budgets including labor, supplies, overhead and capital expenditures.

  • Assigns housekeeping tasks so as to maintain production area in a safe, neat and orderly condition.

  • Interviews and evaluates prospective maintenance employees. Conducts performance reviews of direct reports and recommends or coaches any development needs.

  • Oversees the preparation of shift logs, safety reports, inspection logs, and other reports that are requested.

  • Responsible in maintaining all records in the Kronos timekeeping system.

  • Insures all training and certifications are up to date for department personnel.

  • Recommends and implements cost saving, manufacturing improvements and quality improvement projects.

  • Works closely with outside vendors in various areas to support Maintenance initiatives.


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance supervision in manufacturing environment

  • Prefer four-year degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineer or related field

  • Experience with PLCs, controls, instrumentation, motors, piping and rotating equipment preferred

  • Experience in DataStream MP2 Computerized Maintenance Management System preferred

  • Some experience with Microsoft Office Programs

  • Experience with Extrusion equipment and associated equipment desired

VIEW JOBS 7/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-20T00:00 Electro Mechanic Troubleshoots problems using manuals, schematics, and/or Manufacturer's services to keep equipment downtime to a minimum and machinery operating to specifications. Minimize downtime of production equipment by performing major Preventative Maintenance related to electrical or mechanical functions. Particular emphasis on electrical troubleshooting. * Complete repairs to all machinery, facilities, and utilities per Work Order Requests. * Prepare and coordinate completion of Work Orders for regular maintenance and PM of machines, facilities, and utilities. * Log and track specific work functions on production equipment to determine and periodically update an effective Preventative Maintenance program. * Perform major Preventative Maintenance related to electrical or mechanical functions. * Train other Mechanics and Operators to effectively keep machinery in good working condition. * Perform all work in a manner consistent with established safety procedures. * Complete Maintenance Work Orders, report work done, parts used, and time spent on each job. * Fill out the daily time sheet as to tasks performed and time spent on job. * Determine items that need to be purchased or replaced, place requisitions with administrator. * Make recommendations for spare parts to be ordered to keep as stock items. * Responsible for training operators, and other positions as needed, to prepare these positions to perform minor electrical-mechanical functions. * Coordinate with maintenance manager details of any repairs (including outside vendors), preventative maintenance, or improvements needed on equipment. REQUIERD KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Must be able to communicate in English * An in-depth, detailed knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical processes. Must be particularly strong in electrical troubleshooting. Knowledge of Thermoforming and Extrusion of plastics is also preferred. * Detailed knowledge of electrical circuits and controllers, including trouble shooting of AC-DC-PLC, Motors, Systems, and Controllers. * Ability to read and work from prints, both mechanical and electrical. * Has the knowledge and skill to use a variety of hand and power tools as well as shop tools. * Analytically oriented to troubleshoot and establish root cause of problems. * Willing to work overtime and be on call for off-hours emergencies. * Qualified for truck operator. WORK ENVIRONMENT- HOURLY POSITIONS There will be minimum exposure to elevated temperatures on the manufacturing floor. There is constant exposure to noise (hearing protection is required at all times) as well as some exposure to dust and fumes (PPE is required in these situations).
