I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Supervises and coordinates activities or workers engaged in set-up, installation, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical plant, and in fabrication of repair parts and tools. Manage Disassembly Processes and Technical data on battery packs. Manage day to day workshop tasks on disassembly and repair.

QHSE responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and work safely and insist that others do so.

  • Be able to manage customer and colleagues' risks relating to Health and Safety and be at the front line of awareness and prevention.

  • Take on a proactive role in maintaining good housekeeping in the workplace.

  • Ensure the housekeeping standards both inside and outside the buildings exceed agreed standards and allocate associates to correct any specific issues as required.

II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises hourly employees in the performance of their duties in the department in conformance with applicable company policy and procedures, as well as, provisions of the Labor Agreement.

  • Supervises structural repairs to the physical plant, and the repair of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment. Assists workers in the diagnosis, repair, and calibration of machinery and production equipment. Supervises the dismantling, assembling, and installing of machinery and production equipment. Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies.

  • Interprets company policies for workers and enforces compliance with safety regulations. Analyzes and assists in resolving work problems. Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders for workers and assigns duties. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.

  • Report materials as they are used so as to keep materials in stock. Ensure backup is assigned to complete inspection if primary inspector is absent and ensure the deficiencies are noted and corrective measures documented on the forms.

  • Maintains time and production records. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Create and Manage Disassembly Processes and Technical data on battery packs.

  • Manage day to day workshop tasks on disassembly and repair.

  • Conduct assessments on scrapped and or damaged Lithium-Ion EV batteries for safe disassembly.

  • Conduct assessments on batteries that have not been seen before in the Ecobat Workshop.

  • Where required perform disassembly of scrap Li-Ion EV batteries

III. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years experience in industrial maintenance including 2 years supervisory experience.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Able to use tools including micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

  • Able to instruct mechanics on proper maintenance techniques.

IV. POST-HIRE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Environmental training applicable to the job

  • Safety training for applicable equipment

  • Job instructional training

  • ISO 9001 familiarization

  • ISO awareness, objectives and targets, plant significant environmental impacts

  • OHSAS 18001 familiarization, hazards and risks

V. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
