I. Position Description
Supervises, performs and/or coordinates activities of workers and contractors engaged in set-up, installation, and maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical plant, and in fabrication of repair parts and tools. Electrical Certifications a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and performs the structural repairs to physical plant and the repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic machinery.
Perform as primary point of contact for contractors.
Supervises workers in the diagnosis of electrical issues; repairs and calibrates machinery and production equipment.
Supervise and perform the dismantling, assembling, and installing of machinery and production equipment.
Will requisition all tools, equipment, repair parts and supplies.
Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders. Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications.
Confers with Management Team (Plant Manager, Assistant Plant Manager, Plant Engineer) to coordinate maintenance department personnel access to production equipment.
Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Suggests changes to increase production efficiency.
Analyzes and assists in resolution of work problems.
Interprets company policies for workers and enforces compliance with safety regulations.
Complies with all environmental, health, safety and housekeeping programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Adhere to all hazardous waste practices as reflected in the annual training
II. Pre-Hire Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
5 years experience in industrial maintenance including 2 years supervisory experience
5 years Electrical Diagnosis experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to use tools
III. Post-Hire Training Requirements:
Environmental training applicable to the job
Safety Training for applicable equipment
Job instructional training
Quality system familiarization-ISO 9001 Objectives, Policies, and Procedures
ISO 14001 familiarization, significant environmental aspects, EMS program Objectives and Targets
ISO 45001 familiarization, hazards and risks, program objectives, goals, Policies, and Procedures
Attain OSHA 30 Hour credentials
IV. Physical Requirements & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, tightening and loosening grip or feel objects, tools, or controls; gripping and twist on the hands and wrist to tighten clamps by hand repetitively and relieve the tighten clam by hand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
