Supervise maintenance employees and activities including preventive and predictive maintenance of all site equipment.

  • Develops work teams and improve individual performance by providing training and feedback.

  • Assigns and directs daily activities of maintenance group.

  • Instructs and leads crew in safe work practices in pursuit of zero injuries crew

  • Provides information and training on OSHA rules and regulations and additional site procedures such as equipment guarding, burning/welding permits, lockout, safety harnesses, scaffolding and vessel entry.

  • Establishes and maintains preventive maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.

  • Manages service contracts and contract labor projects.

  • Works with planners to minimize schedule disruptions.

  • Communicates with Production Dept. to identify equipment issues.


Required Education and Related Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in Maintenance Dept in Paper Mill or Converting facility, experience in Electrical Instrumentation & Mechanical preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with direct supervision.

Skills and Abilities (technical/professional skills, expertise and qualifications):

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to read work instructions and schematics.

  • Knowledge of JD Edwards.

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the Maintenance team to work injury-free/incident free in a continuous manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and support preventative and predictive maintenance programs, provide technical support for troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maximize process efficiencies. A Day In The Life Typically Includes: * Driving safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify hazards and implement the appropriate mitigating strategies based on the risk involved * Monitoring the quality of work and providing direction to crew members to maximize efficiency * Assisting with troubleshooting production issues * Establishing metrics, goals, and benchmarks that drive excellence through promoting continuous process improvement, employee involvement, ownership, and accountability while aligning and optimizing the manufacturing enterprise in delivering value to the business * Facilitating team development and growth What You Will Need: Basic Qualifications: * High School Diploma or GED * At least five (5) years of reliability/maintenance experience with industrial equipment and/or manufacturing equipment, including an equivalence of two (2) or more years with leadership responsibility * Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel * Experience utilizing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or other similar problem solving tools. * Ability to read mechanical, structural, and electrical drawings * Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment * Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations including wearing PPE (protective personal equipment) What Will Put You Ahead?
