PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provide Maintenance employees with guidance, direction and supervision in support of site operations. Promptly address performance issues. Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results. Execute planned and scheduled maintenance operations within assigned area of responsibility. Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and responding to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner. Maintain well-organized and productive work areas. Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.

POSITION SUMMARY: Lead the maintenance team in the safe and efficient execution of asset maintenance and improvement. The supervisor will have the overall day-to-day responsibility for the planning, work force productivity of a mechanical and electrical/instrumentation workforce, budget management, and asset reliability. Drive the Reliability Centered Maintenance program for all Athens Additive Operations.


  • Drive safety excellence by promoting employee involvement, ownership and accountability. Leads by example.

  • Effectively maintain assets in a safe and cost-effective manner with emphasis on reliable manufacturing.

  • Day-to-day supervision of all maintenance activities.

  • Drive reliability improvements through the use of best practices for equipment maintenance and repair.

  • Coordinate safe and cost-effective maintenance utilizing both internal and external maintenance resources.

  • Responsible for area maintenance budget development and adherence to forecast.

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of process equipment, controls, and piping.

  • Capable of effective communication across multiple groups in order to achieve desired results.

  • Willing to work call-ins, overtime and unscheduled hours when needed.

  • Additional Duties will include:

  • Familiar with Class 2 Division I Group E requirements as it related to maintenance work. Will have the responsibility to develop a strong safety culture in the unit. Will have the responsibility to develop safe work procedures and LOTO procedures. Develop and document general procedure. Participate in PHA sessions. Calibration of instrumentation.

  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.


  • An Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance or other relevant degree and 3+ years of supervisory experience OR a high school diploma and 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), SAP preferred or equivalent CMMS system. Experience in 6S principles required.

  • Requires an effective working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and ability to learn various PC-based production and maintenance reporting systems.

  • Experience leading improvement efforts in Reliability, and Predictive & Preventive Maintenance.

  • Must have a strong understanding and background in PLC's and troubleshooting skills.

  • Must have instrumentation calibration experience.

  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing production environment.
